John Whittle, Fortinet's COO, said the company's growth can be attributed to the engineering at the heart of its platforms and culture, and its disciplined approach. Today, Fortinet serves nearly a million customers globally. With that, Fortinet has also expanded its workforce, currently employing more than 15,000 people worldwide, all while leading in major security areas such as SASE, SD-WAN and artificial intelligence. On the back of recent initiatives with private partners, public agencies and international law-enforcement bodies such as Interpol and a cybercrime bounty program with Crime Stoppers International, Fortinet has helped disrupt global cybercrime.

“Fortinet is built to last. We have a 25-year track record of executing well, all with a very simple philosophy: a relentless focus on innovation to stay ahead of threats, and always putting the customer first,” said John Whittle, chief operating office at Fortinet.

In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Whittle also discussed:

  • Fortinet's three cybersecurity solution pillars;
  • How Fortinet's mission has changed over 25 years;
  • The newly announced cybercrime bounty program with Crime Stoppers International.

Whittle has more than 25 years of experience managing a wide range of operational matters for technology companies, including serving as an executive at Fortinet for over 18 years. As COO at Fortinet, Whittle oversees various global teams, including M&A, strategic alliances, marketing, product security, information security, IT, manufacturing, corporate real estate, legal and government affairs, among others.
