  • This #GivingTuesday, meet Isabella. 💙 Born at just 26 weeks & weighing less than 2 pounds, Isabella spent 114 days in our NICU & bravely underwent a life-saving heart surgery. Through every challenge, she showed extraordinary strength. Her parents were by her side each day—reading to her, holding her when they could & celebrating every small victory. Her care team became like family, offering comfort & guidance every step of the way. Today, Isabella is home & reaching milestones her parents once felt were so far away. When you give to #RadyChildrens, you make stories like Isabella's possible. Donate today and your gift will go TWICE as far: https://rchsd.co/efa908

  • That’s a wrap on the third annual Rady Children’s Invitational! 🏀 Thank-you to everyone who attended, tuned in from home & donated to support life-saving care at #RadyChildrens. This year brought so many special moments—our incredible patients took the spotlight as honorary team captains, delivered game balls & sang the national anthem. Fans enjoyed exciting match-ups featuring the Wisconsin Badgers, Florida Gators, TCU Horned Frogs & Providence Friars. 🤩 Congratulations to TCU for claiming the championship trophy! 🏆

  • A first at #RadyChildrens! 🌟 Drs. Vijay Patel & Michael Levy led the first pediatric transorbital neuroendoscopic surgery (TONES), removing a child’s brain tumor through a small opening near the eye instead of a large opening in the skull. 🧠 This minimally invasive approach gave a young patient a safer surgery, preserved vision & supported healthy growth – all while getting him home just two days later. We are proud to be one of only a few programs in the U.S. using advanced endoscopic techniques for skull base tumor removals. While common in adults, these approaches are rare in children. We are applying to become the second accredited pediatric program in the nation.

The conference explored how children’s hospitals can collaborate to improve care, strengthen health systems, build unified cultures, adapt to a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape & create innovative partnerships that support the communities we serve. It was an inspiring opportunity to learn, connect & contribute to a stronger future for children & families. 💙

  • Rady Children's Institute for Genomic Medicine (RCIGM) is proud to partner with King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center in Saudi Arabia to bring our BeginNGS genome-based newborn screening platform to the region. 🌍 This collaboration will help expand early detection & intervention for hundreds of severe childhood genetic diseases. "Every region in the world has its own distinct patterns & incidence of rare diseases," says Dr. Stephen Kingsmore, RCIGM President & CEO. "Understanding how they manifest across different geographies is essential to identify effective, accessible therapies at the very beginning of life, before potentially devastating symptoms arise."
