The paper discusses the implementation of a digital signal processor (DSP)-based single-phase Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC) to enhance power transmission capabilities by selectively controlling transmission line impedance, phase angles, and voltage magnitudes. The experimental setup includes laboratory results validating the efficiency of a new adaptive control algorithm and closed-loop system configuration for both shunt and series converters. Results indicate significant improvements in steady-state operation and emergency situations, showcasing the DSP's flexibility and reliability in power conversion systems.
