This paper introduces a method for isolating open-circuit faults in pulse width modulated voltage source inverters (PWM VSIs) used for vector-controlled induction motor drives, employing a fuzzy logic controller. The approach effectively detects and isolates faults by analyzing current waveforms and leveraging the distinct changes that occur during fault conditions compared to healthy operation. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, demonstrating its ability to maintain system reliability without requiring additional hardware.
