We’re excited to share that Partnership with Children will be presenting at #SXSWEDU 2026, a conference that brings together leaders in education, innovation, and community impact. Our session, Reimagining School Wellness Through Arts & SEL, will explore how arts-based learning can strengthen student engagement and support whole-school wellness. Led by Wesner Pierre (CEO), Tal Bar-Zemer (Program Director), and Camille Simone Thomas (Teaching Artist), this interactive conversation draws on a four-year program with 3rd–5th grade students from our partner schools in Brooklyn. We’ll highlight trauma-informed, culturally responsive strategies that elevate student voice and transform classrooms into spaces of agency, connection, and healing. If you’re attending SXSW EDU in March 2026, we hope you’ll join us for this important discussion. Looking forward to connecting with fellow educators and partners!

Yesterday highlighted the power of partnership and collective impact. WPP Media — led by their Chief Client Officer and dedicated PWC Board Member, Nancy Hall — brought nearly 100 volunteers to our offices and helped secure an incredible volume of essential products. Together, we assembled beautifully curated hygiene kits that will support more than 400 families across New York City. A huge thank-you to Unilever for generously donating the items that filled each kit. These essentials will not only reach students and families directly, but will also help stock pantries across the city — bringing dignity, comfort, and care to our communities. Partnerships like these ensure our students and families feel supported, dignified, and equipped to thrive. #mentalhealth #newyork #partnership

The future of technology depends on more than innovation — it depends on inclusion. At SOMOS 2025, our CEO Wesner Pierre joined a panel of cross-sector leaders to explore how community-led data, accountability, and shared power can reshape the way AI is built and used. The conversation drew a full room of 85+ participants — a clear sign that people are eager to rethink how tech and community intersect. PWC shows up in these spaces because the stakes are real: the systems being designed today will shape the opportunities available to young people, schools, and families tomorrow. We’re proud to bring that perspective to the table — and committed to ensuring it stays there. Thank you to Assemblymember Emerita Torres for co-sponsoring this session, and to our fellow panel partners and thought leaders—NYU McSilver Institute, Chinese-American Planning Council, Phipps Neighborhoods, The Knowledge House, and North Arrow—for driving this work forward. #SOMOS2025 #AIForGood #DataForImpact #LeadershipInAction #PartnershipWithChildren

PWC CEO Wesner Pierre is joining a powerful panel at SOMOS 2025, Reclaiming the Algorithm: Community Power in Data and AI, to discuss how data and technology can better serve the communities they impact. This conversation brings together leaders across tech, policy, and social change to reimagine how systems are built, who they benefit, and how communities can have a real voice in shaping the future of technology. We’re looking forward to taking part in a conversation that puts communities at the forefront of innovation and helps shape a future where technology is built responsibly, with accountability and real-world impact in mind. Heading to SOMOS? Be sure to say hi to Wesner Pierre, our CEO, and our Chief Development Officer, Annie Cleary! When your CEO says “we’re going the distance,” he means it. 😅 Our own CEO, Wesner Pierre, is running the NYC Marathon with Robin Hood, joining 70+ runners who are raising funds to fight poverty and lift up NYC kids! We're so lucky to be working with our partners and joining forces on issues so close to us and our city! “Running a marathon isn’t easy—but neither is growing up in poverty. That’s why we run.” 💙 Cheer him on below — every clap, shout, and emoji helps! #FightPoverty #TeamRobinHood

District 23 came together in the heart of Brownsville for a powerful day of advocacy and awareness. Led by Community School Director Dahshem “Mr Mack” McFadden (PS 41) and Scholanda Miller (Riverdale Avenue Middle School), nine schools and more than 850 students and staff united for a breast cancer awareness walk that filled Zion Triangle with music, celebration, and purpose. In a community with extremely limited access to breast cancer screenings — and with breast cancer remaining the leading cause of death among Black women — this walk was about more than awareness. With 90% of Brownsville residents identifying as Black or Brown, students and staff used this moment to advocate for change, honor survivors, and stand together for better health outcomes. Partnership with Children is proud to support our District 23 partner schools in creating opportunities for learning, leadership, and community action — showing what it means to lead with heart, purpose, and unity. #PartnershipWithChildren #District23 #NYCSchools #BreastCancerAwareness #BrownsvilleStrong #CommunityImpact #nycnonprofit, NYC Public Schools

Senator Roxanne J. Persuad hosted her annual Power 19 Awards Ceremony, honoring nineteen community leaders who have made a lasting impact through leadership, advocacy, and service. Partnership with Children is proud to celebrate two remarkable leaders from our school community, Dr. Arabelle LaCroix Pembroke Principal of Riverdale Avenue Middle School, and Ciani Espada Former Principal of Brooklyn Gardens Elementary School, who were among this year’s honorees—receiving the 2025 Power 19 Community Empowerment Award, presented by Senator Roxanne Persaud who herself is a PWC champion and advocate for the work we do. Having our team recognized by one of our own is a powerful experience and speaks to leaders coming together for greater change. Their leadership and commitment to empowering students and families reflect the values that guide our work every day at Partnership with Children.
