Playful Programming is now a non-profit! 🎉Even when we were called "Unicorn Utterances", we've always strived to do the right thing and keep dev education free, accessible, and inclusive. Now we have a structured organization to keep us focused on these goals.I couldn't be more excited.

It's true — after many years as operating without a formal organization backing our efforts: Playful Programming is now a California Non-Profit.This will further propel our efforts to create engaging learning resources and bring others into software development!

Potentially hot Angular take:I suspect we will see Pipes deprecated and suggested against using in favor of `computed()` now that we have a primitive for derived data sets.What do you think?

Currently in the middle of a migration of a standalone zero-signals Angular project to be 100% signals based.It's ~10,000 LOC.Anyone wanna bet what the final time-to-migration is? I have my suspicions... 🤔

The more of my book I migrate to Angular signals, the more impressed I am with how seamless of a migration most of my components are.While the signals paradigm is different, a correct mental model can see migrations done easily and with much nicer DX/performance.Love it!!!

Our search page is awesome. Not only is the UX incredible thanks to
@edpratti
's work, but now we support semantic search through Orama.
We're super glad we partnered with them to make this a reality!

Working on an article about using a no-bundle solution for JS apps. Thus far I mention:- JSDoc + TypeScript + ESLint - "HMR" - Import maps - CDNs - PNPM vendor install path - node_modules aliasing - Tooling choices - Bundling deps w/ many files to single ESM file (lol)What else am I missing?

I wrote an article that explains what signals are in a visual and interactive way.In it, we build our own implementation of signals from the very basics all the way to a basic glitch-free implementation!Check it out:

New article!Signals are seemingly everywhere today, which begs the question: What are they?In their most basic form, signals are a method of having some state and a way of subscribing to that state.
The signal stores values and sends updates to listeners. Then a setter can update the store using some API and the listeners recieves notifications of signal state changes.

I wrote a whole demo of an Angular game using the new `resource` and `linkedSignal` APIs.The crazy part? Not a single `effect` or even `signal` function usage! 🤯The Angular team is doing an AMAZING job at adding new valuable primitives!
What pokemon has the ID of 920? "abomasnow" in a select menu. "Your guess is abomasnow? Nope! It's lokix" with a "Restart" button present
