Last week, Google announced that its Gemini AI assistant is coming to Nest smart home devices, including speakers, displays, doorbells and more. If you’re keen to get it, here’s how to sign up for early access.
The Gemini takeover is no surprise, considering it has been replacing Google Assistant on every device under the sun recently, including phones and smartwatches. The firm has said it will arrive on every smart device it’s made in the last decade.
That includes the devices mentioned above as well as cameras and the Google Home app, too. It will also come built into the new Google Home Speaker, which arrives ‘Spring 2026’.
Gemini for Home doesn’t have a specific launch as such, but you can already sign up for early access to make sure you are among the first to get it. This starts rolling out this month for certain devices.
“It will be available via an early access program because we want you to try all of these new features and continue giving us feedback as we work to perfect the experience,” said Google.
Here’s how in a few quick and easy steps.
- Open the Google Home app, ensuring it is version 4.0+
- Tap the Settings cog at the bottom
- Scroll down and tap Early access
- Now tap Sign up
- You’ll be notified when Gemini for Home is available
