From “Aging and Outdated” to a Welcoming New Gateway for San Diego. ✈️ Syska Hennessy partnered with Gensler on the transformation of San Diego International Airport’s Terminal 1, providing MEP, technology/low-voltage, vertical transportation, and sustainable design consulting. The first phase now delivers 19 new gates, an elevated departures roadway, outdoor check-in pavilions, a five-story parking plaza, new concessions, and an outdoor deck with harbor and skyline views—all designed to elevate the passenger experience from curb to gate.
