In a world filled with conflict, chaos and uncertainty, peace can feel out of reach. Yet Advent reminds us that true peace is not the absence of trouble — it’s the presence of Christ. The Light has come, and with Him, peace that overcomes fear and darkness. As Isaiah proclaims: “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned” (Isaiah 9:2). This week, take comfort in the promise that Christ is with us — bringing calm to our hearts and hope to our world.

We’re excited to join forces with Wellvana to offer independent primary care physicians and advanced practice providers new opportunities to deliver high-quality, coordinated value-based care programs. This collaboration combines our leading population health infrastructure with Wellvana’s high-touch enablement platform to create one of the nation’s largest clinically integrated networks. The goal is simple: help independent providers, who are not employed by Mercy, better manage care across Medicare, Medicare Advantage and commercial insurance plans. Read more below.

Big changes in small hospitals often start with one person, like April Hansen! For 15 years, April has strengthened care in Missouri’s rural hospitals by building workflows and systems designed specifically for the unique needs of smaller facilities. From being a voice for Critical Access Hospital labs to launching the Mercy Swing Bed Collaborative to connect 18 of our facilities, April is bridging the gap between rural hospitals and larger health systems. This year, April was honored with the 2025 Missouri Rural Health Champion Award for her outstanding impact on rural health care across the state. Thank you, April, for making a big difference where it matters most! #FacesofRuralHealthCare #RuralHealth #FacesofMercy

On #GivingTuesday, we celebrate generosity. Thanks to the support of our donors, Mercy Health Foundation can continue providing care and resources to those who need it most. Every gift makes a difference — and today, we simply want to express our gratitude for helping us bring hope and healing to our communities.

For nearly a century, we've welcomed thousands and thousands of newborns into the world at #MercySoutheast. Many of those tiny babies grew up to become caregivers themselves, returning to the very halls where their own lives began. And now, in some truly full-circle moments, some are working hand-in-hand with the caregivers who once held them as infants, who are now helping them deliver their own children. In 1996, Julie helped deliver baby Sydney to Mary, an RN in our ICU. Now, the two work side by side in the Labor and Delivery unit, and earlier this month, Julie had the honor of helping deliver Sydney’s own baby. Nearly three decades ago, nurses Connie and Staci delivered Tatiana, Mercy Fitness Center personal trainer, to her mother, Lorey, surgical technologist at Mercy Clinic Women's Health. Just a few months ago, that same team supported Tatiana through the birth of her child, making Lorey a proud grandmother. Generations of people help give our hospital its heart, bringing to life the compassionate care and exceptional service that define who we are.
