EmpiRx Health is excited to announce the launch of Pharmacy Allies Transforming Healthcare (PATH), a new national coalition which is focused on preserving and empowering community pharmacies. PATH brings together pharmacies and pharmacists, employers who sponsor benefits plans, policymakers, and other healthcare stakeholders with a shared commitment to building a more affordable and sustainable healthcare system in America. Community pharmacies are the backbone of our nation’s healthcare system. However, independent community pharmacies are closing their doors at an alarming rate, limiting care options for communities across America. A key part of the PATH mission is to advocate for national PBM reform that lowers drug costs, improves patient health, and protects the community pharmacies that millions rely on. PATH is more than just a coalition. It is a movement of people and organizations who share a strong commitment to ensuring that pharmacies and pharmacists continue to play a central role in providing trusted, affordable, and uniquely accessible healthcare across our nation. It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our colleague, Patricia “Patty” Hall. A Strategic Client Executive who joined EmpiRx Health this past December, Patty was known for her kindness and the positive energy she exuded and shared with everyone around her. She was a very accomplished individual, whose grit and professionalism helped her to build a successful 15-year career.   Patty’s relationship with God was central to her life, and she carried that faith with grace and strength in all that she did. She also had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, enjoying running, walking her dogs, and taking spinning classes. Patty left a lasting impact on those around her and her presence enriched our team on many levels. Her memory will continue to inspire us.    A Go Fund Me has been set up for Patty’s family. When only a small number of companies control patient access to prescription drugs, the impact is felt across the entire healthcare system. The anticompetitive, self-dealing business practices of the largest PBMs have long hurt community pharmacies, driving a growing number of them into bankruptcy or out of business altogether. In our video “The Urgent Need to Empower and Protect America's Pharmacies,” our CEO, Danny S., asks pharmacy leaders to let their voices be heard in the fight to advance essential PBM reform. Danny comments that pharmacy industry leaders have the power to stop the legacy PBMs by not giving them their own pharmacy benefits business.
