Celebrating the Transformative Power of a Mentor! Every so often, we hear a story that reminds us why this work matters so profoundly. Megan Brink first came to The Emerge Center to pursue her GED. What she found was something even more powerful—a mentor who would help change the trajectory of her life. Megan shared: "I earned my GED at Emerge a few years ago with Rhonda. I am in recovery with going on 9 years clean. I tried to get my GED several times before this last attempt. I was referred to Emerge to work with Rhonda. She is an angel. She made me feel so confident, she was patient, and if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be where I am today. Last night I got pinned as an LPN and today I signed up for the LPN to RN bridge program. Last night Rhonda showed up for me, and I will never forget that. I just wanted to brag on her. Y'all have a good one with her." Rhonda didn’t just help Megan earn a credential. She helped her reclaim a future, build confidence, and step boldly into a new chapter — one that now includes becoming an LPN and embarking on the journey toward RN. Megan’s story is a testament to resilience, restoration, and the incredible impact one person can have when they choose to lift someone else up. To Megan—congratulations on everything you’ve achieved. To Rhonda—thank you for being the kind of mentor who changes lives. At Emerge, these stories fuel our mission every day. #Mentors matter. We were honored to welcome Senator Blackshear and proud to showcase the skills, dedication, and ambition of our students, residents, and team. His visit reminds us that vocational training and #workforcedevelopment are more than just jobs — they’re pathways to opportunity and financial stability for individuals across Ohio. “It was great touring the Emerge facility and having the opportunity to interact with the students and staff. Emerge is doing great work transforming lives, building the workforce, as well as giving people the chance to gain skills that lead to good paying in-demand jobs here in Ohio. The work they’re doing is something that people around the State of Ohio should take notice of.” — State Senator Willis Blackshear Jr. If you believe in second chances and building a stronger workforce, join us in supporting Emerge and spread the word about our mission. https://lnkd.in/gsCRyhTE Chris Adams Kip Morris Doug Van Dyke Terry F. This Veterans Day, Emerge Recovery & Trade Initiative joins in honoring the men and women who have served our nation — and the community partners helping them rebuild purpose and peace. At Emerge, we believe healing happens when people find their place in the world again — through connection, meaningful work, and a renewed sense of purpose. We've had the honor to connect with two nonprofits serving our veterans with that same belief: 🎵 Valor Therapeutics, where veterans and first responders find healing through art, music, and equine therapy — reconnecting with themselves and others in transformative ways. 🚴♂️ Gilberto Esparza, with Warriors on Wheels Cycling, which empowers recovery through movement, camaraderie, and the shared strength of community. Together, we share a common purpose: helping individuals overcome trauma, addiction, and mental health challenges so they can emerge stronger — as valued employees, loving family members, and thriving members of our community. This Veterans Day, we say thank you — to those who served and to those who continue to serve through healing. 💙 Terry F.
