Last week, I wrapped up my summer internship with Buckeye Pacific, LLC. This experience was full of professional and personal growth. I had the chance to learn not only about sales and the lumber industry, but also about what it takes to build strong client relationships, navigate pricing markets, and understand how they correlate to lumber. I’m grateful for the opportunity to challenge myself, gain industry knowledge, and take away lessons that I’ll carry forward into my career after graduation. A huge thank you to Keatin Rudolph, matt vaughan, and the rest of Buckeye for making this an invaluable experience, as I look forward to applying what I’ve learned wherever the future takes me.

This summer at Buckeye Pacific, LLC was an incredible learning experience. As an intern, I had the opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to the world of commodity trading, as well as the logistics and coordination involved in moving products across the globe. One of the most valuable takeaways was seeing how essential strong relationships and clear communication are to the success of this industry. I’m extremely grateful to the Buckeye Pacific team for being so welcoming and supportive. A special thank you to Bill Matos, matt vaughan, Megan Hagarty, and Keatin Rudolph for sharing your time, knowledge, and guidance throughout the internship. It was also a privilege to work alongside such a motivated and talented group of interns, which made the experience even more rewarding. Thank you again to everyone at Buckeye Pacific, LLC for this opportunity. It was an unforgettable summer of learning and growth.

We were honored to host Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer at our office last week for a tour of our trading floor and Q&A with our team. It was a unique opportunity to share more about our work, hear insights directly from the Department of Labor, and engage in thoughtful conversation. Moments like this highlight the value of connection between industry and leadership, and we are incredibly grateful for this experience. Thank you again Secretary Chavez-DeRemer and her team for making this possible.

It’s that time of year! As our interns get ready to head back to school, we’re looking back on summer highlights. From touring mills and reloads to finding mentorship on the trading floor, these past few months were all about building connections — with each other, with our teams, and across the industry.
