| I ended up forking the repo to make this modification to the library.json file since I'm using chain+ for ldf mode: https://github.com/lemonkey/arduinoWebSockets/blob/master/library.json My project is based on the esp32 (arduino framework). |

Actually the library will compile only with "chain" mode if you include manually "WiFi.h" in your source. This should solve the problem, without altering the default plaformio.ini of library's users.
