Simple Log Service:Endpoints

Last Updated:Sep 27, 2025

This topic describes the Simple Log Service endpoints for different network types.

View endpoints

Important

When you use the internal endpoints of Simple Log Service (SLS) on the public cloud, you must use the Alibaba Cloud internal Domain Name System (DNS) server addresses: 100.100.2.136 and 100.100.2.138. Otherwise, you may fail to retrieve the correct virtual IP address (VIP) for the internal endpoint and be unable to access SLS.

An endpoint is a domain name used to access Simple Log Service. Simple Log Service provides internal endpoints and public endpoints.

  1. In the Project list, click the target project.

  2. On the Project Overview page, you can view the endpoints for the region where the project is located.服务入口

How to select an endpoint

Internal and public endpoints provide the same services but differ in network latency and billing rules.

Scenario

For communication between Alibaba Cloud services. For example, an Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance accesses Simple Log Service in the same region.

Use an internal endpoint for this scenario.

To access Simple Log Service over the Internet. For example, use an API or a software development kit (SDK) to access Simple Log Service from your on-premises server.

Billing

Charges are based on the standard billable items of Simple Log Service. For more information, see Billable items of Simple Log Service.

In addition to the standard charges, you are also charged for outbound Internet traffic. For more information, see Billable items of Simple Log Service.

Public endpoints

An endpoint is a URL that you can use to access a project and its log data. The endpoint varies based on the region where the project is located. The following table lists the public endpoint for each region where Simple Log Service is available.

Internal endpoints

If you use the Simple Log Service API from within an Alibaba Cloud ECS environment, you can use an internal endpoint. The following table lists the internal endpoint for each region.

Note
  • The Simple Log Service API supports only the HTTP and HTTPS protocols for internal endpoints.

  • Accessing Simple Log Service using an internal endpoint does not consume Internet traffic from your ECS instance, which saves you public bandwidth costs.

Transfer acceleration

In addition to internal and public endpoints, Simple Log Service provides a transfer acceleration feature. This feature offers significant advantages in latency and stability compared with standard Internet access. It is suitable for scenarios that require low latency and high reliability for data collection and consumption. For more information, see Manage transfer acceleration.

The endpoint for transfer acceleration is the same for all regions:

log-global.aliyuncs.com
Note

The transfer acceleration feature is disabled by default. You must enable it before you can use it. For more information, see Accelerate data collection.

Custom domain names

To create a custom domain name, see Register a domain name.

After you attach a custom domain name in the Simple Log Service console, you must add a DNS record in Alibaba Cloud DNS for the domain name to take effect. For more information, see Add a website resolution.
