If your resource usage is stable, you can purchase a resource plan to reduce your Object Storage Service (OSS) costs. For example, if you expect to use about 100 GB of Standard Zone-Redundant Storage (ZRS) over the next three months, you can purchase a 100 GB Standard ZRS storage plan with a three-month validity period.
Step 1: Determine which resource plan to purchase
You can also select a suitable resource plan type and capacity based on the billable items and usage shown in your bill.
Match billable items: If your bill shows that the main cost is from Standard ZRS capacity, you can purchase a Standard ZRS storage plan to offset the fee.
Match usage: If your bill shows an hourly storage capacity of 40 GB, you can purchase a 40 GB Standard ZRS storage plan to precisely cover your actual usage.
Step 2: Purchase a resource plan
You can purchase a resource plan that corresponds to the billable items identified by the in your bill.
Log on to the OSS console.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose .
On the Resource Plan Management page, click Purchase Resource Plan.
Select the resource plan type, region, capacity, and validity period as needed. Then, click Buy Now.
ImportantAfter you purchase a resource plan, you cannot change its type. A resource plan of a specific type can offset only the fees of its corresponding billable items. When you purchase a resource plan, make sure to select a suitable resource plan type.
A resource plan takes effect immediately after purchase. The fees for the associated billable items are then automatically offset by the resource plan.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the purchase.
Example
In March 2022, Mr. Chen purchased a 500 GB globalStandard LRS storage plan and a 100 GB global outbound data transfer plan. His resource usage in March was as follows:

In the China (Shanghai) region, the monthly storage usage for Standard LRS was 100 GB, and the monthly storage usage for Standard ZRS was 200 GB.
The following table describes the billing details.
Region | Resource plan deductions | Pay-as-you-go charges |

Refund amount = Paid amount - (Original price / Purchase duration in days) × Used days
If you do not want to request a partial refund, you can change the redundancy type of the bucket from LRS to ZRS. Then, you can use a ZRS storage plan to deduct the corresponding storage capacity.
After the redundancy type is changed, the bucket is charged based on the ZRS price, which is higher than the LRS price. For more information about pricing, see OSS Pricing.

What do I do if a resource plan of the desired capacity is not available on the buy page?
The OSS resource plan buy page typically offers plans with capacities such as 100 GB, 500 GB, 1 TB, and 10 TB. If a plan with your desired capacity, such as 9 TB, is not available, your purchase method depends on whether the resource plan type supports stacking.
For resource plans that support stacking
For resource plans that support stacking, such as outbound data transfer plans, you can purchase multiple plans to reach the desired capacity. For example, to obtain 9 TB, you can purchase one 5 TB plan and two 2 TB plans.
For resource plans that do not support stacking
For resource plans that do not support stacking, such as Standard LRS storage plans, you can use one of the following methods:
Purchase a 10 TB Standard LRS storage plan.
Purchase a 5 TB Standard LRS storage plan. The excess usage is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.
For more information about which resource plans support stacking, see Supported operations.
