Alibaba Cloud DNS:Billing

Last Updated:Aug 28, 2025

This topic describes the billing methods and billable items of HTTPDNS.

I. Billing methods

HTTPDNS uses the pay-as-you-go billing model. You are not charged if you do not use the service. The product also provides more cost-effective resource packages to help you reduce costs for long-term stable use.

  • HTTPDNS is billed daily, and bills are pushed for statistics.

  • On the first day of each month, HTTPDNS provides 10 million HTTP regular traffic requests (equivalent to 20 million UDP/TCP parsing requests) for users with normal service activation. If the free traffic threshold is not exceeded, no charges are incurred. If the free parsing traffic quota is exceeded, the excess part will be charged.

  • Free traffic is allocated monthly. Unused traffic in the current month does not accumulate to the next month.

II. Billable items

HTTPDNS charges based on the number of HTTP parsing requests. HTTPS (including DoH/DoT) parsing requests are converted to HTTP parsing requests at a certain ratio for billing purposes. The conversion ratios are as follows:

  • HTTPS (including DoH/DoT) is billed at 5 times the HTTP traffic rate, meaning 1 HTTPS (DoH/DoT) request = 5 HTTP traffic requests.

  • After exceeding the free quota, you are charged 0.0062 USD/10,000 requests for HTTP parsing.

IV. Overdue payments

Alibaba Cloud DNS provides service suspension protection that lets you continue using Alibaba Cloud services for a specific period or within a specific quota after a payment for your account becomes overdue. Your pay-as-you-go services, purchased resource plans, and subscription resources can be used normally. Service suspension is triggered only if your usage exceeds the protection range. For more information, see Pay-as-you-go service suspension protection.
