🥇 Ill health 🥈 Economic concerns 🥉 Artificial Intelligence That’s how workers aged 45+ ranked the biggest threats to their jobs in AXA Health’s latest study. And when you include all age groups, the order shifts, but only slightly: Economic concerns (37%) rise to the top, over-taking ill health (33%). Either way, the message is clear: 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐲, 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞. And the data on daily habits paints an even bigger problem. 🏃🏻♂️ Only 9% exercise during lunch ❌ 18% of workers aged 55+ don’t take a lunch break at all 📱 45% spend their lunch scrolling For HR, this is a warning sign. Employees perceived wellbeing ≠ actual wellbeing. In other words, people think they’re coping, but their habits say otherwise. So what can HR teams realistically do about it? Here are some practical actions both individuals and employers can take to protect employee health. 👤 For Individuals: - Build non-negotiable movement into your day (not just “when you can”). - Normalise asking for help, especially around stress or mental health. - Revisit your benefits to see where they can help you. - Make sure you're getting plenty of sleep, hydration, and eating balanced meals. 🏢 For Employers: - Ensure employees have flexibility over their working conditions. - Make wellbeing programmes easy to access. - Make sure employees are taking their lunches to break away from their desks. - Re-communicate benefits quarterly because awareness drops off fast. - Equip managers with training and resources to spot declining well-being early. HR can often be roped in to put out fires that already exist, but this is an opportunity to prevent the fire from forming in the first place. 51* not out . That’s what I worked out our combined tenure is at Annapurna . To celebrate 14 years for Joseph Nabarro , 10 years for Florian Felsenreich and Luke Leonce, plus 17 years for me, we went to Sixes Party Cricket at Mayfair and then went for some food. Despite being a qualified cricket coach I was quick to learn I have improvement to make compared to my peers. We are very proud @ Annapurna to be a Sunday Times multi award winning best small company to work for. This is only possible due to the excellence, teamwork and care of our people. Luke, Florian and Joseph epitomise those values. After a very successful 2025 we continue to look to build across our executive search teams for technology, HR and GTM in the UK and internationally. We can’t believe yesterday saw the end of our busy event schedule for 2025, but we can’t think of a better way to have waved goodbye to a year of truly transformative roundtables.
