I'd like to investigate how we can update the WFDB spec to support the packaging of records into a single .wfdb file. The benefits of having records in a single file include:

• Simpler for users (e.g. download/upload/share one file instead of many)
• Helps to maintain integrity (e.g. helps to ensure related files are kept together as a package)
• The original multi-file structure can be maintained, allowing it to be used where appropriate.

The new format might also help to deal with some of the issues that have come up in CHoRUS, e.g. how to link data in OMOP to the waveform files.
