What problem does this feature solve?

Currently several files get overwritten without warning (such as App.vue). If I had known that the "Add vue-router" button in the Vue CLI UI would overwrite all uncommitted code then I wouldn't have clicked it before committing and wouldn't have to rewrite some of the things.
