Many times we have preferred to package and build dependencies ourselves in our package set.
In the case of pgbackrest, it will be simpler for the short and medium term for us to just source it from upstream nixpkgs using the latest nixos-unstable-small branch. The reason why is that pgbackrest needs some dependencies that are not present in our current version of nixpkgs we're using.
We have a pending nixpkgs update PR, and once that is complete, we won't need a distinct flake input to source pgbackrest.
