One of the most use parts of other console libraries is a formalization and helper functions to make it simpler to read input from a user while the program is being executed.

Your documentation and examples do not mention this use case and it is hard to tell if this is something you are accounting for, or you intend for users to use readline.

Either case is fine, but the documentation should say so.
