Upon translation of the Observer pattern chapter, I've come across a sentence I find a bit confusing:

"The achievement system registers itself so that whenever the physics code sends a notification, the achievement receives it."

The way I am interpreting it, it is the achievement itself who receives the message instead of the achievement system - doesn't make much sense to me that an achievement - which is basically a flag - is listening for messages.
