Running ComfyUI on NixOS?

I have a handful of options for doing so: nix-comfyui, but it hasn't been updated in months, I could use some nix soution to set it up, or try a docker container. I'm actually surprised there isn't an official container given the popularity, amount of maintainers, and the funding ComfyUI has received.

Follow the standard Linux installation instructions. It usually only takes me a few minutes to install python and set up the environment on my linux machines.

You seem to not know about NixOS. It’s much different from other distros, where programs must be installed with nix configuration files, rather than with package managers or manually downloading and installing / moving files.

I understand that, but in essence wouldn't you just have to install python and git using your package manager then use the default python commands to setup the environment and use git to clone the comfy repo? From what I understand, Nix uses the bash shell by default, so the normal Linux commands will work for general tasks, and comfy is a regular python application.

Every Linux distro has its own quirks, but the basic installation directions will all be the same. You just need to understand how you accomplish those directions within the limits of your distro.

On NixOS installing python packages isn't just running pip install or another package manager via CLI. That was a rabbit hole I went down a bit before using uv and following the guide on the nixos wiki.

I got it working, IIRC, I followed this guide and added the following:

environment.systemPackages = [ pkgs.uv ] programs.nix-ld = { enable = true; libraries = [ config.boot.kernelPackages.nvidia_x11 ]; } 

My nvidia config:

 hardware = { graphics.enable = true; nvidia = { nvidiaSettings = true; open = true; }; }; 

I looked at this comfyui issue, then downloaded comfyui and ran these commands in the directory: uv add --requirements requirements.txt, uv sync --extra cu126.
