About

I'm an Application Engineer with a solid foundation in Python development and about ten years of experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) research. I enjoy tackling complex problems and developing tools, often leveraging High-Performance Computing (HPC) to find innovative solutions.

A key part of my role is automating processes and building tools that empower others to work more efficiently. I specialize in using computational methods to process, visualize, and interpret data, making it more accessible and actionable. My interests include software development (especially Python and Fortran), high-performance computing, and data science. I'm always eager to connect with fellow professionals and explore opportunities to collaborate on impactful projects.

Highlights

  • Open-source contributions:

    • Wizard Template (Author): A general-purpose template that aims to provide a magical start to any Python project.
    • XCompact3d-toolbox (Author): A Python package with many tools for pre and postprocessing prepared for the high-order Navier-Stokes solver XCompact3d.
    • Figure-scale (Author): Create publication-quality figures with precise size control in Matplotlib.
    • Jobbergate (Core maintainer): A job templating and submission system that integrates with Slurm to enable the re-use and remote submission of job scripts to a Slurm cluster
    • XCompact3d (Former member of the development Team): A Fortran-MPI based, finite difference high-performance code for solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equation and as many as you need scalar transport equations;
  • Research results:

    • Plunging Criterion: This repository contains the source code and dataset from our work "Plunging condition for particle-laden flows over sloping bottoms: three-dimensional turbulence-resolving simulations" (Computers & Geosciences, 2021);
    • The Plunging Flow by 3D-LES: The Plunging of Hyperpycnal Plumes on Tilted Bed by Three-Dimensional Large-Eddy Simulations (EPTT, 2020).
  • Tutorials (all in Portuguese):
