Generates an error first and then kills the project when I start a new conversation in a project

When I start a new conversation in my project, AIstudio tends to create an error on the first reply, then tries to fix it and finally rewrites tons of things, without any chance to restore.

I’m now used to it, and I download and upload the zip file all the time, but this is such an inconvenience. This happened almost half of the new conversation that I had with it. Even if my strategy is just to start with a simple thing, like just change a text in a file, because then when it fucks up, I can always restore to this version in this conversation at least. But even simple things, it tends to generate one error and then kind of kills tons of things.

What would be ideal is to be able at least to restore to the initial state that we have when we start a new conversation, so that we don’t rely on this Russian roulette to know if it’s going to work or not.

I have an example above of a typical behavior that I’m observing, sorry it’s partially in French. But this also happens in English, of course.

The problem is that frequently the model tends to generate an error on very basic things, and once it has an error, it reruns the task and completely changes everything. It rewrites the file for no reason.

Here’s an example: I was just asking to change the border in Tailwind from the top to the top, which was really a simple task. I asked him first not to code and explain to me what he was going to do. He said, “Okay, just change this Tailwind class, and that’s it.” But then when it did it, it had an error and for no reason it modified two files and then it rewrote completely these two files, and the app was a failure. Completely different from what it was at first.

So basically that’s two thing:

  1. When the code generates an error, it tends to rewrite everything instead of just fixing and thinking again on the initial task that it was supposed to do.

  2. we should have a way to restore the code from the start of a new conversation.

Same this is happening to me. It was not this common a week back. Apart from this sometimes it also shows a cross sign instead of a green tick. Whenever this happens, I know it killed the project.
