We were honestly just tired of the planning chaos – boring apps, no privacy. We thought, "What if AI could just get us?" That spark led to Planner 7: secure, AI-powered plans that actually make sense, for United Hacks V5.

You simply share what's on your mind, and our smart AI instantly crafts a schedule that's perfectly tailored for you and kept entirely private. It truly understands your preferences, ensuring your information stays secure, and delivers a custom plan in just minutes.

How we built it

How we built it Okay, so for the tech lowdown: we used Node.js as the backend brain, serving up all our pages. The real flex is tapping into the Google Gemini API to instantly whip up your custom plans! We even threw in googleapis for some Google Calendar vibes. All your deets are just chillin' in JSON files. Basically, we coded up a full-stack JavaScript app that's actually helpful, no cap!

Challenges we ran into

Honestly, we definitely hit some roadblocks. Getting the AI to actually generate genuinely smart and useful plans from all sorts of wild inputs was a huge puzzle. Then, making sure all our security features were airtight without slowing anything down was another big headache, especially with the clock ticking. And of course, the classic hackathon struggle of debugging at ridiculous hours was real!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're seriously buzzing that we managed to build a fully working, AI-powered planner from scratch in such a short time! Seeing the AI actually churn out intelligent, custom plans that just get it was a major win for us. We also nailed the super user-friendly design and locked down the security, which feels awesome.

What we learned

This whole hackathon was a huge learning curve for us. We really leveled up our skills in making AI understand natural requests and building secure systems. On the team front, we learned how crucial super clear communication and quick decisions are when you're racing against the clock. It truly taught us to focus on the main thing and iterate fast.

We're just getting started! Next up, we want to make the AI even smarter, so it can practically read your mind for planning. We're also dreaming about seamless integrations with your favorite apps like Google Calendar, and definitely a mobile version.
