Inspiration
We’re two 12-year-olds and our inspiration happened when we were thinking and thinking about some AI that helps students. Like ChatGPT but made just for kids who are learning. Then an idea hit us—what if we made a chatbot for students but with helpful gadgets like timers and flashcards? That would make studying way easier!
What it does
Maraboo Study Buddy is a chatbot that helps students with learning. It answers questions and also has tools like a timer for study time and a calculator for quick math. It’s like a fun and smart study friend!
How we built it
We split up the work—one of us did more of the research and the other worked more on the code. We also helped each other a lot and worked as a team.
Challenges we ran into
Some hard parts were the graphics and making the server work right. It didn’t always go smoothly, but we didn’t give up and kept fixing things.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud we got the timer and calculator working! And we’re super happy we finished and submitted something for our first ever hackathon!
What we learned
We learned how to better manage our time and how to work together as a team. We also learned more about AI and coding.
What's next for maraboo study buddy
We’re going to add flashcards next, and maybe some quizzes or reminders too!
