Performance issue with my map

I may think my map is too big because I made a land with the fill terrain option with the maximum size of 16380 * 44 but I double it every side which takes up 9 terrain fills and now it takes up about 5 or more minutes to join the game and same thing goes with saving and publishing it, sometimes I also get sudden performance drop because of this.

Is there any option to make the map size still big but with better performance or am I forced to delete the terrain?

Option is to make your own mesh Terrain (not roblox, unoptimised)

That’s actually a great idea to make the background for my map. But right now I’m confused because when I replaced half of my map with air to replace it with the background meshes, the performance issue came back, should I save the map to a new one?

How much vertices in your background meshes ?

I have not yet tried. Like I said I replaced half of my map with air the performance issue came.

You should then save the map to new one,

and try to load again (make backup for old one, in case of something)
