My Fandom: your progress and engagement activity
Hey hey, you amazing people! Progress tracking has been a hot topic for a while on Interactive Maps and, more recently, on tables. However, this progress is tracked in isolation, only visible from the page in question. Your interactions and history disappear unless you know where to look, and even if you do, it's often fragmented and not particularly welcoming. Your contributions page displays your editing and social history, but it doesn't show your progress. Until now! Let me introduce My Fandom: a home base for all your progress and engagement activity.
Let's start with the "what is it." At this moment, My Fandom's functionality is limited to three main sections:
- Interactive Maps, including progress tracked on map checkboxes.
- Progress Track…
Media from Fandom Media
Hey there! Nothing like an evening blog post to get the momentum going. Long time no see, or rather, long time no blog post, since I tend to see community work as both a professional and personal pursuit. (Shoutout to several long conversations with my sister-in-law about Grow a Garden) For those who haven’t met or heard of me, I’m Dylan “DToast” Host, Community Manager for Fandom Media. I also help manage the SOAP team and handle some of the technical safety aspects across our platforms. I’ve got several updates and bits of info to share, starting with a quick branding note: in case it hasn’t already filtered through or wasn’t obvious from the blog title, News & Rating, which includes GameFAQs, GameSpot, Comic Vine, TV Guide, and Metacrit…
Table Progress Tracking: How It's Going
Hey everyone!
A little while ago, we introduced a way for wiki tables to be more than just references: progress tracking.
With this, fans of your wiki can check off their own progress against a goal in editor-created tables, save it to their account, and come back later to pick up where they left off. This can be things like achievements in their game, collectables they're stacking, secret items, missions, there are a LOT of different applications that we've seen. We've even seen users tracking episodes for TV shows they're watching!
This feature is private, personal, and it turns tables into something readers actively use.
Since that first announcement, we've seen the feature take off in a big way.
Progress tracking is now live across more than a tho…
Introducing our new accessibility checklist
Hey folks! We've been making a big push with web accessibility this year, with the release of Fandom's accessibility statement, new resources and monthly Office Hours in Discord, and the Hackathon which took place in July. These have been essential in spreading the word on web accessibility, which is to ensure everyone can access content on websites, regardless of disability.
This is super important as making a wiki accessible opens doors to so many more users. Having good alt text is essential for screenreader users to understand what's happening on pages. Keyboard accessibility helps those with physical disabilities who can't use a mouse. Having easy-to-read link text is just helpful for all readers, so they know where a link is taking them…
Policy Updates - Community Creation and Notability
Hello, sunshine!
A few months ago, I mentioned my work on policies & guidelines. In that blog, I announced our newly created Admin Code of Conduct, & I am here again to talk about (pause for suspense) more policy updates! (Are you excited??)
All platform policies & guidelines share the same goal: to make Fandom a welcoming, sustainable home for communities of all kinds. To support that goal, we’ve updated our Community Creation Policy (newly renamed to Community Creation and Content Policy) & introduced a new companion page: the Notability Guidelines.
- Policies are rules that must be followed. The Community Creation and Content Policy sets the standards for when and how a new wiki can be created on Fandom along with what content is acceptable.

Technical Updates: September 19, 2025
Hiya, lovely people, welcome – or welcome back – to our second Technical Update of September! If you are team "Welcome back", then I appreciate you, but you can skip the rest of this paragraph as it won't tell you anything new. If you are team "Welcome", then I also appreciate you for hopping on one bi-weekly update blog post! In this series, you'll find updates about the Fandom platform, from user-related bug fixes, fixes that are imminent, and other tweaks you as our wiki reader may notice. These blogs are posted every other week to keep you updated on a regular basis! You can also use the comment section of the blog to let us know about an idea or bug you may have found yourself!

New Measures to Reduce Bot Activity
Hi everyone,
We’ve recently noticed a sharp increase in bot activity on Fandom, particularly on our Revisions pages. This has placed unexpected strain on our servers, disrupted analytics and SEO, and negatively affected site performance.
To address this, we’ve rolled out some changes as of today.
- On History, the following will no longer be clickable for logged-out users:
- Versions (prev/cur)
- Direct links to specific revisions
- The Special:Contributions and Special:RecentChanges pages will now be hidden from logged-out users and will display a message prompting them to log in.
We hope these changes will significantly reduce the type of bot traffic causing these issues and help stabilize performance.
We’re also working on additional safeguards, includ…
