Just upgraded my build environment from Ubuntu 20 to 24 and it seems that the ruby installation has lost support for the Ruby Just In Time (RJIT) compiler which I had enabled via a environment variable: RUBY_CONFIGURE_OPTS=--enable-yjit. A shame ‘cause this speeds up Jekyll builds considerably! Would love if you brought back support for it ![]()
I’ve asked the devs if this was intentional.

I’ll take the radio silence to mean it wasn’t intentional but isn’t a high priority for them to fix because the number of us using the feature isn’t that large?
That’s correct. I’ve filed a PR for this now, waiting for the devs to review it.

This should now be fixed.

Sorry, the devs mentioned:
It seems I have to revert this change so the system can be stable over the holidays, I can take another swing at it afterwards
