Define a group of private or internet gateways to provide a reliable connection between Jamf Security Cloud and your data center, cloud services, or offices. If the route that is in use goes down, another available route will connect in its place.

Requirements
  • A Jamf Security Cloud account with Super Admin, Parent Admin, or Access Admin permissions.

  • At least two configured dedicated gateways of the same type, either IPSec or dedicated internet.

  1. In Jamf Security Cloud, navigate to Integrations > Access gateways > Grouped gateways.
  2. Click Create group.
  3. Enter a name for your new group in the Name field.
  4. Below Gateway type, select the type of gateways you wish to use, either Dedicated IPSec or Dedicated internet.
  5. Select a Routing strategy.
    • Nearest uses the available gateway from the group that is geographically closest to the device. If two or more available gateways are the exact same distance from the device, one is selected randomly. If a device is connected to one gateway and travels nearer to another, the connection automatically switches to the nearer gateway.

    • Random uses a random available gateway from the group. This option is useful for load balancing across all available gateways.

    • First available searches for available gateways from the group list, in the order that they are listed, and uses the first available one.

  6. From the Required gateway stability menu, select the amount of time that a gateway must be available without interruption before it is used. This helps to avoid unnecessary outages due to flapping.
  7. Below Choose your gateways, select the gateways you wish to use from the Add gateways list.
  8. To reorder the gateways in your list, drag the icon to the left of the gateway name up or down.
  9. Click Save.
You can now use the grouped gateways in your access policies and custom DNS zones. For more information about access policies, see Zero Trust Network Access Policy. For more information about custom DNS zones, see Custom DNS Zones in the Jamf Security Cloud Portal Setup Guide.
