I would highly recommend Suricata and Laika BOSS over Snort. Suricata has much better performance and Laika BOSS is developed and maintained by Lockheed Martin so it's Enterprise tested. Most companies have moved on from Snort to Suricata. Even Ubiquiti UniFi gateway devices run a version of Suricata.

This is a great list of tools, and there are several that I am already using!
I’d like to add one of my favorite productivity tools: a helpful AI assistant called ChatGOT.
It not only helps me quickly generate code snippets and write commit messages, but I often use it to explain some old code or summarize technical documents.

Definitely! For smaller teams or projects where Git feels like overkill, Mercurial can be a great alternative. Less steep learning curve too!
