SelfCAD is a great program for beginners because it’s simple to use and runs right in your browser. One of the first shapes many people learn to make is a sphere. It’s a basic shape, but also really useful since you can turn it into all kinds of designs later. In this article, I’ll walk you through how to design a sphere in SelfCAD step by step, so you can see how straightforward 3D modeling can be.

Once you’ve launched the editor;
From the 3D Shapes category on the Toolbar choose Sphere; Set Radius to 140


Tick the check mark to finalize Sphere
Click+Wireframe button to set rendering mode


Click to activate Edge Selection, Click on highlighted region to select it


Click Copy button to copy selected objects
Click Isolate button to Isolate selected objects


From the Tools category on the Toolbar choose Revolve; Click Revolve Around Edge button to draw the Edge you want to Revolve Around, Set Edge Mode to draw, Click on highlighted point to draw revolve line


Click on highlighted point to draw revolve line


Tick the check mark to finalize Revolve
