This was such a refreshing read. The way you broke down the transition from architecture to software engineering honestly shows how much the two disciplines overlap behind the scenes. Structure, iteration, constraints, user flow — that’s literally the backbone of both fields.
A lot of people underestimate how much their previous background already trained their brain for engineering. Your journey makes that clear. What stood out the most is how you turned the pressure and precision of architecture into resilience for debugging and problem-solving. That part hit home.
Thanks for sharing this — stories like yours help a lot more people than you think, especially those switching tracks and wondering if it’s “too late.” It’s not. You’re proof.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate this.
I’m glad the overlap between both fields came through. Architecture definitely shaped how I think and solve problems today.
If this encourages anyone considering a switch, then I’m glad I shared it.
I love this point, you still need to study a lot but it's not all day. I'm trying to upskill a lot right now and this is the place I find myself in as well.
Just stay consistent. You’re closer than you think.
""Consistency beats intensity"" 100% agree. Intensity for too long just adds chaos and complexity. Step away and come back fresh can be more beneficial than hammering until you can't see the nail anymore.
Nice article!
You’ve rightly said it! Thank you so much Jason.
This is a really good one Increase. I recall our lecturers telling us that studying architecture gives you a higher advantage in all career paths. You just proved that.
Well-done 🤗
Very correct! Thank you Tolulope.
Wow, this was an unexpectedly interesting to read. Weldone, looking forward to reading more of your journey.
Thank you so much Favour. More interesting ones are coming.
This was a really good read. Wishing you the best in your career!
Thank you so much Oluwatitofunmi!
