SCRIPT FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY

Marwin: A very good morning to one and all present here! I am


Marwin, this is Ruchika and I am Purvanshi. We are going to be
your hosts for this Independence day celebration. This day marks
the freedom of our beloved nation from the British rule, a day of
immense pride and joy for every Indian.

Marwin : 'Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now
the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge' and today
marks 77 years since our former president Jawaharlal Nehru
proudly delivered his speech before the stroke of midnight of
August 15 when our Motherland attained independence.

Marwin - Today is not an ordinary day. Rather, it is a day that


commemorates the ethos of unity, discipline, and hard work. It is a
day that celebrates the spirit of teamwork and cooperation. And
what better way to understand and appreciate this spirit than to
commence our day with an electrifying March Past!

Ruchika - Let's embrace this spectacle with a grand cheer. Here


is a rally organised by the students of VNGSS as they march
forward with immense pride and joy with the Indian flag.

marwin : We would like to take this opportunity to extend our


heartfelt welcome to our Chief guest, Group Captain Mahendran
Natarajan - BE mech Engg. Commanding Officer, Mechanical
Transport Training Institute. their presence adds great
significance to the event and enhances the spirit of our
celebration.

Purvanshi - Leading the parade, we have Jaasim our school


Pupil Leader and Yashwanth Assistant School Pupil Leader

Ruchika - Followed by them are the adorable bunnies of grade 1


and 2

Purvanshi- Next, we have the Cubs and Bulbuls from Grades 3


to 5. These young leaders are stepping up with great energy and
teamwork.

Ruchika -Now, let’s welcome the Scouts and Guides from Grades
6 to 8. These dedicated students are a fine example of discipline
and leadership. Their commitment is truly commendable.

Purvanshi- And now, we have the distinguished Head Boy and


Head Girl of our school along with the cultural and asst. Cultural
secretaries.

Marwin- The synchronisation, the order, the team spirit, look at


how they captivate the field and our hearts!

Marwin:
I request everyone to stand up and join us in this moment of
reverence and pride.

I now invite our respected chief guest to hoist the national flag in
order to allow Our flag, our pride, wave high today, I also request
deputy director academics, Sr. Principal and Principal Ma’am to
join our chief guest.

Today, we celebrate the bravery and sacrifice of our freedom


fighters who fought tirelessly to give us the gift of freedom. Let’s
welcome the nightingales of VNGSS paying tribute to our flag
with a flag song.
Now I request our chief guests and other fraternities to be seated,
Thank you Sir, Thank you Ma’am.

Purvanshi: "Please join us in welcoming the divas of VNGSS to


present the Invocation Dance. Let us embrace this moment as we
celebrate our nation's spirit through the art of dance."

[after dance]

Ruchika: That was a mesmerising performance! Let’s keep the


energy flowing. Here comes Kusum Soni of 9A to welcome the
gathering .

Marwin : Our Flag is our identification as proud Indians. Our flag


is unique in the world. It is not only our pride, but also our respect
and emotion.
The tricolour when hoisted fills us with pride and every Indian
around the world experiences goosebumps when they watch the
flag flutter in all its glory. Here are our Pre-primary children to take
us through the timeline of our Indian flag.

Following this, we will be treated to a beautiful dance


performance that celebrates our flag’s significance.
And to conclude, let’s all join together in reciting the pledge to
reaffirm our commitment to the values it stands for.

Purvanshi: We are privileged to have our gifted school ensemble


with a patriotic song that celebrates the essence of our freedom
and unity. This song reflects the rich heritage of our nation and
evokes a sense of pride and togetherness.

Ruchika: Tamil, is one of our country's classical languages, holds


a profound place in our cultural and literary heritage. It connects
us deeply with our roots and tradition. We have Jenalf Mero E of
5A with yen dhesam yen perumayi.

Thank you Mero for that inspiring speech.

Marwin: It was a day that was going to change the course of


history for the rest of our lives. It was a day that was going to
redefine the subcontinent forever…yes it was the 15th of August
1947. But I oftentimes wondered what the run up to that day
looked like…the 24 hours before the big day. What were the
people doing? How did they respond? What were the leaders of
an imminently independent country up-to? My questions go on
forever.

Purvanshi: To answer some of those, the students of Class 9 and


11 have put together a small play that is a dramatization of that
very day… Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls , get ready for a
nostalgic march down the memory lane

[So, let’s be patient and enthusiastic as the students finalise their


preparations. Their dedication will surely make this performance
memorable and impactful].
(after scene 1) marwin : we have rayan khan of IX A with a
melodious patriotic song.

Marwin: We are absolutely thrilled to extend our deepest


congratulations and admiration for your performances. Each of
you demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and passion,
making the celebration not just impressive, but truly memorable.

Ruchika: Here we have Shalu Singh of 8A, with a salute to the


freedom fighters. Through her words, we will explore the
significance of our independence and the ongoing pursuit of the
ideals that our forefathers envisioned."

Purvanshi -Thank you for conveying your ideas with clarity and
confidence that was remarkable

Purvanshi- Here comes Harshita Yadav of 9A with a speech on


india’s unity in diversity.

Ruchika: Thank you Harshitha

Marwin: Dance, they say, is an expressive form of art. From


prehistoric times there has been evidence of dance as a form of
celebration and holds an important role in the fabric of a society.

Purvanshi: If you enjoy a bit of a dance, you are in luck. The


students are here to entertain you with a beautiful representation
of the different dance forms of India. Please put your hands
together and welcome them onto the dais for a melange of a
visual treat.
Ruchika- Here we have the little children displaying
bharatanatyam, The classical dance form, with its rich heritage
and intricate movements, embodies the essence of our cultural
traditions.

Now, get ready to experience the vibrant and energetic rhythms of


Gujarat! We are thrilled to present a dazzling Garba performance
that will bring the lively spirit of this traditional dance to life.

Purvanshi- Get ready to experience the grace and elegance of


Odissi, hailing from the beautiful state of Odisha. It is one of
India’s oldest classical dance forms.

now let’s feel the vibrant energy and exuberance of Punjab with
our next performance! We are thrilled to present a dynamic
display of Bhangra, a traditional dance that truly embodies the
spirit of celebration.

Let us get ready to witness sattriya, a major indian classical


dance .

Marwin- Prepare yourselves to be mesmerised by the elegance


and grace of Kathak, one of India’s classical dance forms.

Now, here we have Mohiniyattam, from Kerala which translates to


"the dance of the enchantress,"

Purvanshi: let’s put our hands together for the phenomenal


ensemble! Their graceful movements, impeccable timing and
infectious energy truly brought this stage to life. these talented
dancers not only perform with precision but also with a passion
that captivated us all. The stage is set for a breath-taking fusion of
talent. Let's welcome our dancers for the grand finale!

This is it! The moment we've all been waiting for.That was
absolutely mind-blowing! A standing ovation for the incredible
dancers who just graced our stage!"

incredible dancers one more time Every move is a tribute to our

I'm speechless! That performance was pure magic. Let's shower

Purvanshi: Now we have our asst. cultural secretary Jessica


gracelin of grade 11 B to give a note of thanks.

Marwin : As we stand together to sing our National Anthem, let


us reflect on the sacrifices made by those who fought for our
independence and renew our commitment to upholding the values
of our great nation.

Ruchika: As we conclude, let us remember the importance of this


day and the values it represents. May we all strive to embody the
spirit of independence and work towards a future filled with hope
and progress.
