Key Setups
Item Attributes / Catalogs / Categories

GOP Catalog created in

Product Hub

Since Catalogs are "Master" Controlled, Categories are associated to items only at Item-Master
Organization level.
An item will always be associated to a unique Catalog-Category combination for all child Inventory
organizations of an Item-Master Organization.
While loading item-category association from external source systems ensure not to have multi category
association for an item in a catalog

Key Setups
Calendars and Transportation Schedules
 Order Promising respects Calendar Constraints.
Calendars used in GOP should have "Length in Days" as 7
Users can specify number of working / non working days for a 7 - day week pattern.

Calendars in GOP should

Key Setups
Calendars and Transportation Schedules
GOP respects Transportation Schedule modeled in Oracle Fusion Shipping.
Schedules are associated to partners by providing its usage.
Customers configure Transportation Schedules, for GOP to recommend ship dates based on the carrier –
calendar and carrier associated to a lane

Key Setups
Calendars and Transportation Schedules
Following table provides an example of the Transportation Schedule usage in GOP.

• In the above scenario, GOP would use the calendars associated with carriers for deriving a valid ship date
from the organization (organization-shipping)
• This calendar and carrier would be applied to the lane used by GOP based on sourcing / in transit setups.

Key Setups
GOP Profile Options
• Following additional Profiles have to be set for GOP. Task : Manage Planning Profile Options

MSC_ATP_REPORT_DAYS
Number of horizon days for the review supply availability report.

MSC_ATP_REPORT_MASTER_ORG
Org calendar to be used for weekly and period buckets in supply availability report.

Copyright © 2018, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. | 31

Key Setups
GOP Profile Options
• MSC_SRC_ASSIGNMENT_CATALOG
• Catalog to be used when defining sourcing assignments for GOP

Assignment set also has an option to

provide the Catalog to be used. If a
catalog is provided in Assignment Set, it
overrides the catalog set in the profile.

Set the Catalog for GOP

in Assignment Set

Trouble Shooting
• Back to Back - No Supply Recommended
– Check if BACK_TO_BACK flag is enabled for the item
– Check if sourcing rule exists for item-org combination and is available in GOP Assignment Set
• Back to Back – “Release Planning recommendations” not creating supplies in Source
– Check for correct Assignment set in the GOP Profile. Without a correct Assignment Set, GOP would provide an
Sourcing error as well
• Calendars are not honored
– Review if all necessary Calendars are collected and organization-calendar association are available in collected
data
• GOP shows error - "Missing Sourcing rule" or 'Sourcing failed"
– Review Sourcing assignment hierarchy for the item in GOP Assignment Set
– Review if the Shipping method specified in the transfer from sourcing rule is assigned to the inter organization in
transit times setup

Copyright © 2018, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. | 33

Trouble Shooting
• GOP Error - "Invalid shipping organization”
– Review Valid ATP rules and Sourcing rule assignments for Item-organization
• GOP Error - “Invalid Supplier"
– Ensure ASL is defined for item and supplier
– Review if buy from sourcing exists for Supplier (required for drop ship flow)

• GOP shows error - Invalid item on model parent line, expecting item type model
– Review Model item attributes setup like replenish to order flag or PTO flag

• Unable to create work order for a new model item

– Review ATP rules assignment for model, option class, options and mandatory components
– Ensure that Item Structures and Work Definitions are collected for model/option/option class items

Copyright © 2018, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. | 34

Trouble Shooting
• Updated on hand not available in GOP , Updated Sourcing rule/ATP rule not honored in GOP
– GOP is an in-memory engine and requires (a) data to be collected and (b) GOP engine to be restarted to reflect in
changes
– Since GOP is in-memory, a restart every day is required to update the in-memory Sysdate
• Difference between On-Hand Availability within Oracle Inventory Cloud and Item Availability returned
by Global Order Promising (GOP) Cloud
– When GOP returns the item availability of an Item, it is returning the “ATP Supply” of the Item
– ATP Supply = on hand + Scheduled receipts(purchase Orders/Requisitions + Work orders + Inbound transfers)
• Key Information to analyze GOP issues
– Export Check availability with pegging details to an excel to review the output
– Drill to Sourcing and ATP rule for a given context to review GOP output
– Perform a inquiry in MOPD UI for problematic scenario and review the check availability results
