Interview Transcript
Assyifa ( Employer ) : “ Thank you for coming to see us for your interview today,
Raffasya. How was your journey, did you have any trouble finding us? ”
Raffasya ( Applicant ) : My journey was fine thankyou, Ms. Assyifa . The instructions I
received for my interview made it really easy to get here. It’s nice to meet you ( shaking hands ).
Assyifa ( Employer ) : “ You too, Raffasya. Please have a seat and I will tell you about what’s
going to happen during your interview. As you know, I am the manager of the departement you
have applied to. I’ll be asking you some questions to find out more about your potential for the
role, does that sound ok? ”
Raffasya ( Applicant ) : “ Yes that sounds fine,than you. ”
Assyifa ( Employer ) : “ Did you bring a copy of your resume? ”
Raffasya ( Applicant ) : Yes, ma’am, I did. [You open up a folder you brought with you
to the interview (where you have copies of your resume). You hand one copy to the interviewer.]
Assyifa ( Employer ) : “ Tell me a little bit about yourself.”
Raffasya ( Applicant ) : “ My name is Raffasya and I am 18 years old. I have graduated
from University of Indonesia, majoring in Accounting. I have lived in [your city or state] all of
my life.. Right now, I’m learning a new language because I think it is important to be able to
communicate with a variety of people. ”
Assyifa ( Employer ) : “ What are your weaknesses?”
Raffasya ( Applicant ) : I like things to go according to my plans so when something
comes up that may make my plans go off schedule it sometimes stresses me out. But what I have
learned about myself is that coming up with a plan B helps a lot! So, if I plan ahead for potential
problems, then I don’t stress out at all because I have a good idea of what to do next.
Assyifa ( Employer ) : “ What are your strengths? ”
Raffasya ( Applicant ) : “ I’m a really good listener. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a good
talker too, but I think listening skills are even more important. I’m also a good organizer.”
Assyifa ( Employer ) : “ What is your motivation on applying to our company? ”
Raffasya ( Applicant ) : “ I would like to find new opportunity and developing my
capabilities as well as networking. And of course to find a stable income in the future. ”
Assyifa ( Employer ) : “ Can you describe about finance? what do you think a finance
staff job desk would be? ”
Raffasya ( Applicant ) : “ Well, as far as i know a finance staff should be prepare of
making and optimizing financial and administrative duties in the company. Preparing balance
sheets, invoices, record account payable, record account receivable, reconcile bank statements,
track bank deposits and payments, and so forth. ”
Assyifa ( Employer ) : “ That’s intriguing. You understand the basic job desk here. Well.
do you speak different languages? ”
Raffasya ( Applicant ) : “ No Ms, i only speak Indonesian and English. ”
Assyifa ( Employer ) : “ That’s allright. Can you tell me about your quality and
shortcoming point? ”
Raffasya ( Applicant ) : “ My quality is that i am strong in detail, i like to work in number,
and learn new things is my passion. My shortcoming is i don’t like to be bored, well that’s why i
try to make myself busy. ”
Assyifa ( Employer ) : “ So i am sure that you do can operate basic software like MS
Word and MS Excel. But can you operate financial software? ”
Raffasya ( Applicant ) : “ Yes Miss, i could use several sofware according to financial
system. But i also able to learn something new quickly. ”
Assyifa ( Employer ) : “ Well, it was a great time to have a meeting with you. I thought
that you are capabele for the position. I will call you later after informing the management to
settle the choice. Much obliged to you for nearing Raffasya. Do you any questions for me? ”
Assyifa ( Employer ) : “ Do you have any questions for me? ”
Raffasya ( Applicant ) : “ I don’t have any more questions at this stage. I am very
interested in this opportunity and I hope that I’ convinced you that I would be suitable for the
role. Thank you for your time today. ”
Assyifa ( Employer ) : “ Your welcome Raffasya. ”
