How are enterprises adopting and consuming AI? Here is a framework to understand the consumption of AI in the enterprise. At the foundational level, Co-Pilots and Chatbots are the initial AI interactions and workflows, serving as frontline AI applications that enhance productivity and customer engagement. These are AI co-pilot and chatbot products from usual suspects: Anthropic, Microsoft, Google and others. Next up, Enterprise Applications, from in-house solutions to SaaS and Collaboration Platforms, now have embedded AI capabilities to drive smarter workflows, analytics, notifications and decision-making processes. These are traditional enterprise applications and SaaS players ranging from Atlassian, Salesforce, to Workday, and their peers. For organizations seeking a more tranformative approach, building a Custom AI Stack is becoming increasingly prevalent. This includes Commercial and Open Source LLMs (Large Language Models), which are providing unparalleled customization in AI applications. Data Pipelines and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems are vital for managing the vast inflow of data, while Hyperscaler Stacks ensure scalability and robust infrastructure. There is a ton of players in this space as opportunities abound, ranging from OpenAI to Mistral AI, and hyperscalers like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. Each layer of this model represents a step towards AI maturity, from basic automation to strategic AI-driven innovation. It's a pathway that businesses are navigating with keen investment, reshaping industry paradigms and redefining what's possible. What are your thoughts on enterprise AI adoption? #GenAI #AIAdoption #EnterpriseTechnology #ArtificialIntelligence #BusinessStrategy #Innovation

Companies waste millions on AI products that turn out to be vaporware. I have been simmering and seasoning this AI product evaluation framework for 12 years. My clients need innovative AI tools that deliver competitive advantages, so it’s not feasible to reject startups altogether. Here are my assessment points. ✅ The startup knows something about the market or your needs that no one else does. They discuss your problems and desired outcomes like they’ve worked at your company. ✅ They explain how early design partners and limited releases led to improvements and new features. They share early outcomes from both, and the result metrics align with your strategic goals. ✅ The solution makes sense, and demos are focused on functionality, not just technology. They are transparent about the product or platform’s weaknesses and gaps and have plans to address them. ✅ They ask questions during the demo to better understand your needs and showcase the most relevant functionality based on your answers. ✅ They have built competitive advantages with data, and the platform or product delivers functionality that competitors can’t. ✅ They have a platform or product roadmap and admit it isn’t set in stone. However, they can provide a clear vision for the product or platform. ✅ The company has a low burn rate, path to profitability, or strong financials that indicate it will be around for several years. ✅ Their service level agreements, data management practices, contract/pricing structures, etc., are mature and built for enterprises vs. consumers. ✅ They have an implementation/integration roadmap and provide initial support or onboarding. The company doesn’t just drop and run or rely 100% on chatbot support. My book and articles provide more frameworks to help businesses navigate the emerging AI tools landscape. I wrote about how I leveraged Vibe Data Analysis to decode the AI Talent Wars and how I could get into the wave. https://lnkd.in/gNDhbR84 I next did a similar exercise to the AI PM career path where I am in and what I could do to become a sought after Super AI PM. The burning question: "If I want to be a standout AI PM candidate positioned for the highest-paying roles, what should I actually DO—and how much can I realistically expect to earn?" You can see the report and findings here: https://lnkd.in/gayBhgRg And an interactive Data Intelligence dashboard here: https://lnkd.in/g-QhDzeG The Vibe Data Analysis performed with factual fact checked source data revealed some interesting insights: - At the time of writing there are about 12,000 open roles in the US - Insight #1: "GenAI Product Managers with production LLM deployment experience will command $600K+ by 2026 as enterprises move beyond pilots to scaled implementations." - Insight #2: "AI Safety Product Managers will become the highest-paid PM specialty at $750K+ as regulatory compliance becomes mandatory for AI product releases." - Insight #3: "Multimodal AI PMs (vision + language + audio) will see 400% salary growth as products become more sophisticated and integrated." Interestingly, even though Evals is hot, there was no indication that Evals AI PM is viable in the horizon. Additional value added insights from Vibe Data Analysis: - Conversational Intelligence: "Show me what an AI PM with 3 years experience in San Francisco can expect to earn" - Intent-Driven Exploration: Users could ask "Which AI PM specialization offers the best ROI?" and get immediate, contextual answers - Dynamic Adaptation: The dashboard adapted to user queries like "Compare my current salary to AI PM market rates" - Insight-First Design: Instead of raw data, we provided narratives like "AI Safety PMs command 2.1x premium due to regulatory complexity" The "Vibe" I Captured: Rather than forcing users to become data analysts to understand the AI PM market, we created a system where they could explore market intelligence through natural intent: - "What's my salary potential if I transition to AI PM?" → Instant calculator with projections - "Which skills should I learn first for maximum impact?" → ROI-ranked skill analysis - "Is it worth moving to San Francisco for an AI PM role?" → Geographic cost-benefit analysis - "How long will it take me to reach $500K compensation?" → Career trajectory modeling Hope this adds value to all my AI PM peers and my AI PM teachers - Polly M Allen | Marily Nika, Ph.D | Miqdad Jaffer | Vikash Rungta | MAHESH YADAV | Jyothi Nookula | Madhumita Mantri

Is #AI a "Gray Rhino" or a “Black Swan?” That's the question at the heart of Kelly Monahan, Ph.D.’s latest article for Fortune. Kelly’s research-backed insights help leaders understand how AI is interacting with other forces to create a “Gray Rhino effect, an obvious yet underestimated risk.” She explores how AI is changing the longstanding social contract of the employer-worker relationship, and as a result, what it means to be a strong leader. 💡 Insights that stuck with me: 🦏Gray Rhino Effect: Kelly’s research and conversations with experts leads to the conclusion that AI isn’t a singular "Gray Rhino," but a herd of Gray Rhinos. This means that AI, coupled with other developments, is what’s making future disruption unavoidable. Unlike unpredictable "Black Swan" events, Gray Rhino events are deemed highly probable. But, with positive leadership action and change, we can start to prepare for the inevitable so that these events become less of a surprise. 🤖AI Is Here to Stay: The AI market is predicted to experience substantial growth, reaching $407 billion by 2027, with an expected annual growth rate of 37.3% between 2023-30. This incredible growth is attributed to the convergence of generative AI and automation. 💼 Impact on the Future of Work: We will continue to be impacted by the adoption of AI-powered digital collaboration tools in distributed team models. Businesses need to be prepared for the influence of Gen Z with digital-savvy expectations on workplace dynamics, and the role of AI in accelerating business execution through automation, data analysis, and real-time insights. So how do we stay ahead of the “herd”? Read more: https://lnkd.in/gn9e5WY2 #AI #FutureOfWork Upwork

Organizational restructuring driven by AI implementation is happening faster than most professionals are prepared to handle, creating both displacement risks and advancement opportunities. The key differentiator isn't technical AI expertise - it's strategic positioning around uniquely human capabilities that complement rather than compete with artificial intelligence. Roles emphasizing relationship management, complex judgment, and trust-building remain inherently human-centered and difficult to automate. Training and change management capabilities become increasingly valuable as organizations need professionals who can help teams adapt to new AI-enhanced workflows. Cross-functional communication skills that bridge technical and business domains create essential value as AI implementation requires coordination across diverse organizational functions. Strategic thinking and creative problem-solving represent human cognitive advantages that enhance rather than replace AI analytical capabilities. The professionals thriving during AI transformation aren't those avoiding the technology, but those learning to leverage it as a productivity multiplier while focusing their human capabilities on higher-value activities. Future career security lies in becoming irreplaceable through uniquely human skills rather than trying to outperform machines at tasks they're designed to optimize.
