This week I had the pleasure to be in the audience for Yin Wu’s panel at TechCrunch Disrupt, alongside Randi Jakubowitz from 645 Ventures and Rebecca Lee Whiting from Epigram Legal. All of the speakers were impressive. I was especially proud to see Yin do an incredible job representing Pulley and the founders we serve, sharing a founder-first perspective on how equity can be one of the most powerful tools to attract, motivate, and retain great teams. A few highlights that stood out from the discussion and our recap blog: - Startups can’t compete with Big Tech on salary, but they can win on ownership, upside, and mission. - Be more generous with equity than you think. The real dilution risk often comes from investors, not employees. - A simple framework like 50th percentile cash, 90th percentile equity helps companies scale compensation fairly and transparently as they grow.
