  1. seaweedfs

SeaweedFS is a fast distributed storage system for blobs, objects, files, and data lake, for billions of files! Blob store has O(1) disk seek, cloud tiering. Filer supports Cloud Drive, xDC replication, Kubernetes, POSIX FUSE mount, S3 API, S3 Gateway, Hadoop, WebDAV, encryption, Erasure Coding. Enterprise version is at seaweedfs.com.

This is an old project, I had a quick look and see that I submitted a pull-request back in 2015:

  3. garage

(Mirror) S3-compatible object store for small self-hosted geo-distributed deployments. Main repo: https://git.deuxfleurs.fr/Deuxfleurs/garage

Take a look at GarageS3, it's a niceoption for "just an S3 server" for self hosting.

I use it for self hosting.

  4. iroh

    peer-2-peer that just works

If you're talking about this https://github.com/n0-computer/iroh ... Iroh is a p2p file syncing protocol. That's not even close to the same wheelhouse as SeaweedFS?

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
