- How to Instrument AWS Services with OpenTelemetry
AWS has good tools for tracing, but in this example, I will use another remote and distributed tracing platform – Aspecto.
- Distributed Tracing for Kafka with OpenTelemetry in Python
For this article, I will be using Aspecto to visualize my traces. You can follow along by quickly creating a free account.
- How to Get Started with OpenTelemetry Go
If we drill down into one of these traces, we can see in more detail how long each request took and clear visualization of the entire workflow.
- Distributed Tracing for Kafka with OpenTelemetry in Node
For the purposes of this guide, I chose to use Aspecto as my visualization tool. This is because Aspecto provides built-in support for visualizing messaging systems like Kafka (and, of course, any other part of our microservice architectures).
- Guide to OpenTelemetry Distributed Tracing in Rust
To follow along, you can open a new free-forever Aspecto account or log in to your existing one.

- Spring PetClinic Goes Global: Enhancing Accessibility with Multi-Language Support
Introduction The Spring PetClinic application is a flagship example of Spring Boot best practices, used by developers worldwide to learn enterprise patterns. Recently, my pull request (#0c88f9) was merged, introducing a critical feature: full internationalization (i18n) support using URL-based language switching. This update not only makes the application accessible to non-English speakers but also modernizes its architecture for scalability. Let’s explore why this matters.
- Simple Trick to Create API Docs for any Open-source Web Projects
Consider the project spring-petclinic, which has 7.8 stars on GitHub. Spring Petclinic is a Spring Boot application built using Maven or Gradle. Currently, it lacks API documentation, so let's create one using LiveAPI.
- A supplement to Copilot and Cursor - utilizes AI for batch processing of project codes

- How an AI coding companion keeps my code DRY
In this article, I'm using a customization created based on the spring-petclinic projects and libraries. By creating the customization with your own unique coding style, libraries, and APIs, even different languages, Amazon Q will have more sample data to learn from and will be more equipped to match your intent to what it knows so it can provide better suggestions as you encounter various coding problems.
