firstly – thanks so much for providing a free plug-in to use woocommerce recapture , for many years we have not had a problem , however a couple of weeks ago we had a BOT place orders – they failed BUT 100 of them

I looked at various options as some plugins use V3 of google recapture in the background which i have implemented – BUT NOT woocommerce, this seems to be using V2 – i’m not a robot – and by the time people have logged into PayPal or paid by card and confirmed the transaction by entering a code TFA on PayPal or via the card requiring confirmation the V2 times out and fails the transaction

the time out seems to be a google function

any plans for V3 for free on this plugin ????

  • Hi,

There is no immediate plans for V3 being added to the plugin currently but it may be in the future. Regarding the timeout issue with PayPal I’ll take a look and see if this is something that can be improved/fixed.

    thanks for the response

I think, by my research V3 has the same 2 min timeout – and where its used on other plugins, then its pretty immediate – simple form and submit

    BUT with paypal now –

    1) people get the 2-fact-auth and so wait for a code to be sent to phone and then use that to login

    2) people have auth setup on cards so you have to login to the banking/CC app to auth payment

By which time of people are slowish , the robot times out

BUT would be great if there is someway to extend the time , as this will occur more frequently i suspect for many people

Definitely still an issue with timeout. 2 mins just is not enough for some people to make it through a checkout. I guess until Google extend the time, it will never work for all customers.

I’ll take a look and see if something can be done on the plugins end to extend it or auto-refresh it to prevent the timeout issue.

thanks , it is causing issues as mentioned , and I put a note to that effect on the checkout page to try and bring to peoples attention

I guess they maybe an optimum timescale for this – not sure of implications if it was 5mins instead of 2mins

as mentioned , people may have to log into there banking app and auth the transaction OR they may get a text with a code and have to enter that code
