Excellent Portuguese food in a very relaxed atmosphere. Had the Octopus, it was FANTASTIC. Do not get impressed by the prices, focus on the value. Lots of fancy places would charge the equivalente for one person and you would be getting 1/3 of the food. Amicable staff. NOTE: If you have any intention of having lunch on a weekend, get there before noon, otherwise, you will spend hours waiting for a table. Do not ,what I have done, to drive there from Rio, cross the bay by boat and get an Uber. It is a sin, to eat that food drinking water, it deserves a good wine.

The Gruta de Santo Antônio is a true treasure of Portuguese cuisine, inaugurated in the late 1970s in Niterói. Under the loving direction of Dona Henriqueta and her son, chef Alexandre Henriques, this restaurant stands out for its dishes inspired by trips to Portugal. With a welcoming atmosphere that evokes the European country, the traditional decor complements the dining experience.
Great Portuguese food in Niteroi! It was hard to order from the menu as there was so many tempting dishes to choose from! We ended up having some Bolinhos de Bacalhau, Polvo na Brassa, Bacalhau com Natas, and Caldeirada de Frutos do Mar which were all excellent. It is also worth mentioning the lovely atmosphere and kind service we received from the waiters who tended our table. Overall, Gruta de Santo Antonio is a wonderful restaurant to visit when you're in the area.

Expensive but not special. I am not a great fan of bacalhau - salted cod Norwegian style, which was popularized in Brazil by the Portuguese. People that like it may find the restaurant great, but I was mostly indifferent to the different styles of bacalhau we ordered - even the bolinho, a snack sized fried ball of bacalhau and potatoes, was nothing special. Not bad, but I am not returning.
Very good. The environment is like your dining at a house with lots of tables. Food is very good, with very generous amounts. But it's quite expensive. Not somewhere to go everyday. Better phone in advance to check if there's available places. Free wi-fi. Ask for the password at the counter. Terrible place to park, but there's a parking lot just passed the restaurant, on the right hand side. I'm not sure if the parking lot is opened on weekends, but it must be.

Verdanna is a steakhouse in Niteroi, serving Brazilian and barbecue dishes with sushi on the menu. The restaurant has a full bar and free wifi. The staff are attentive and seem to really enjoy their jobs, especially when it comes to taking care of customers' drinks. There's plenty of seating, although some may find it difficult to get a reservation during busy times. Parking can be accessed for free nearby or payment can be made with validated parking tickets.
The buffet was better than good but less than great. The service however deserves a 10/10. The staff are friendly and they have a few people who can speak English which is good for tourists. I ordered the buffet option and it cost R 70, for this you may eat as meat barbeque as possible as well as a lot of vegetarian and salad options including seafood and sushi.

Great Rodizio .meat all you can eat different types of meat, Sushi and more. Unlike most Rodízios here you don't need to get up and go to the buffet bar to get your salad, vegetables beans cheese etc , you just ask for anything and they will bring it to the table. You loose few options but better service to the table. I Recomended. Price was fair. About 90 RS saturday night per person plus drinks and gratuity.

For the uninitiated, this is a Brazilian all you can eat barbecue place. Note however that they don't sacrifice quality for quantity! Fantastic service. These guys are pros. Good ambience. The decor was very nice. The salad bar was great, complete with sushi, risotto, etc. The cuts of meat were good -- some better than others.

I was looking forward to a typical brazilian food experience after living out of the Country for so long. Someone referred us this restaurant and it was very disappointing. I have been trying different places since I arrived in Rio and Niteroi and have been very happy until my mother and I tried Familia Paludo. The service was cordial but the food was below expectation. I don't like to put bad reviews, because we are all here trying to make a honest living. Brazil has amazing food and Familia Paludo needs to work hard to catch up.

I used to come to outback often a few years ago before moving out. It used to have one of the best services and food in the city. Unfortunately, the quality of the service went considerably down. I needed to wait several minutes to manage to talk to a waiter. Other waiters (that were not serving my table) pretended that they had not seen me. The toilet was disgusting (I should have taken a picture) with one cabin not working and the other 2 that I almost went to the shopping bathroom to avoid. I won't come back there any time soon. Hopefully, when I'm back again, it's better. I do not recommend it anymore.
The wings are still really good. The service was not that much, it would take ages to get attention and the place was not even full. So I really didn't understand why was like.that.
It's the kind of place that is way too expensive for what they actually deliver. Food is over seasoned so you don't actually get to enjoy the taste of whatever you order. People usually like hanging out in here because of the refill policy, which is unusual in Brazil, so if you expect to stay a couple of hours chatting and drinking sodas/iced teas and eventually ordering an appetizer it might be worthy. Otherwise if you expect to eat great food, there are plenty of better options for your money.

I used to go to À Mineira since I was a teenager. This place is amazing and with a huge selection of food and desserts. Traditional and delicious meals and it’s an all you can eat style. Great to have a party and have lots of people.
Don't even consider. This a not a home cooked food. If you are a tourist do not try! The food is pilly and heavy. It is not Brazilian steakhouse all. It looks cheap but is more expensive than you should pay for such badly cooked meal.
Looks clean and good, my room is only for one or couple, even this, I think it is a little bit narrow. Anyway there is not slippers, of course, it is Brazil style. Other hotels don't have either. But I really need it.

The service is friendly, but there are some issues with the sound in the women's bathroom and the ambient music volume. (Original) Sobre a comida : de entrada pedi barriga de porco com pão, o prato em si me surpreendeu com a simplicidade e por estar bem equilibrado. Foi como montar um mini hambúrguer pois vem uma salada e molhos e a barriga de porco estava muito bem feita. Me surpreendi. O rabanete que vem é muito bom tb lembra o gengibre em lascas de restaurante japonês. O molho de ostra estava ok diferente achei que combinou. O prato principal pedi o arroz frito que vem com frango. Desse prato não gostei pois tinha algo nele que estava bem salgado acredito que era o frango. Além disse me pareceu um gosto de yakisoba. Não era muito o que esperava. Ao final do prato fiquei com bastante sede e precisando de algo para amenizar o gosto na boca. Sobremesa - pedi o sorvete frito . É uma massa de pão frita com um sorvete dentro. Vem um molho de chocolate branco que senao me engano tinha um gosto frutado, que por sinal estava muito bom podia ter vindo mais. Tem ao redor do prato lichia com manga com um pouco de chocolate. Foi uma combinação bem interessante. Drinks - não apenas tem uma boa carta de drinks como autorais. Pedi um Brasil sour achei lindo a apresentação e o gosto estava muito bom tb. Coco Bambu is one of those places that you have to visit. The food is really good and plentiful. I have visited the restaurant multiple times for the food and ambiance. The one grievance that I have is the slow service. It is inexcusable to have to wait 15 minutes for the start drinks, when the beer sprout is a 2 min walk. There is something wrong with the order system that is hampering the speed of service. I discussed the issue with the manager, and I hope they improve the service as the food is really good.
Heard lots of good things, but very disappointed and will never return. Meat good but plain potato, white rice and sauce. Food bland, presentation poor. Food also took 38 mins from ordering to arrival. Online menu had no English. Instore tablet had English but waitress didn’t understand it.

The restaurant's self-service style allows for frequent offerings of various meats, including unique options like chicken hearts, while also providing an array of side dishes.
We were here on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a table, but it was worth it. The waiters come to your table about every 3 minutes with something new to try. My advice is to skip or only try a little of the side dishes (french fries, cassava, rice) so that you have enough room to try all the amazing meats. I loved every single type of meat they brought (on skewers, sliced right onto your plate) including the chicken hearts. Highly recommend.

Nice place, great decoration, the drink service is good, but is is a self service style restaurant. Unfortunately, a very expensive one. To be honest, the Food is not bad, but every time I go there I just don't think I get a good value on my money. After a long while I returned to try out their Brazilian bbq buffet. It was a great value and pretty good picanha.

Good place and excellent service. It's the first time in a while I had a tiramisu that I like. A small complaint is i find the taste of the main dish a bit unbalanced ... my tomato sauce was lacking a bit of salt, pepper and herb, and my friend pizza had too much cream and pancetta making it too salty. The pizza dough is delish. Oh and I I wish they would provide condiments on the table like Italian restaurant do.

This is a classic in Niterói. A huge buffet with many options, including barbecue, sushi and pizza. But if you don't find anything you like, ask the waiter anything you wish. They never rejected my requests.
This place has seen better days. It is about time to have a major remodeling. The kids playground by the restroom needs to go that is disgusting. The food is descent.

Pizzas are not one the high points of the Carioca cuisine. But Tutti's pizza are amazing. Specially the Marguerite supreme pizza. The tomatoes are something memorable. The place is very kids friendly. They let them make their little mini pizza which is a show by itself if you have kids. I am ready to go back there for more of the crazy good tomatoes.

One word: Terrible. This review is not only about the restaurant but also the poor parenting that took place around us. The prices of the food are extravagant. One calzone, a small portion of fries, a soda and a beer R$83,00. That's not all the issues. We initially sat inside but the noise was in excess, we asked the server if we could relocate to empty seats outside, she said yes. We proceeded outside, the server didn't bring plates, silverware, or napkins. As we sat outside we realized that we were no better off with the noise. The table of 16 adults that were making most of the noise inside let their children run free outside. The children proceeded to make a nice quiet dinner the center of their hide n seek game, going so far as hiding under our table at one moment. My wife complained to the manager who expressed that this happened often, sometimes the parents even brought a soccer ball. This was a Saturday evening at 20:30 at what we thought would be a quiet cozy restaurant. Lesson learned.
