(Translated by Google) A more complicated trail to go than the Pedra Rodado trail, a steep incline and an elevation of 300 meters for almost 1 km of trail, it's a shame they still don't have a climb to the top of Chapéu do Bispo, but if one day they do activities at heights there, I'll be sure to stop by. Trilha da Pedra Redonda is a relatively easy hiking trail that starts at the end of Av. das Montanhas or can be reached from the Plato trail. It takes about an hour to complete and offers a tranquil experience through lush greenery. The trail leads to a 1990m rounded peak, providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Hikers are advised to wear comfortable clothes and sneakers, bring water, and apply sunscreen due to windy conditions on the rocks and intense sun exposure.

(Translated by Google) The Pico da Pedra Partida is the second highest peak in the Monte Verde region and has a beautiful view of much of the Paraíba Valley. The access trail has signs and red ribbons on some trees along the way, especially in places where there might be some doubt. It took us 1 hour to climb the 900m to the top. And on the way back it took us only 40 minutes. At the top there is a sign indicating the altitude and the name, great for photos. The downside is that access is restricted by MOVE, which charges R$35.90 per person. This amount could easily be used for a "single pass" with access to the 5 peaks in the region. This would both attract more tourists and raise the funds needed to improve and preserve the site.

(Translated by Google) The scenery is wonderful and worth the effort. The trail is not well marked, but it is possible to follow the path. If you are not physically fit, the trail takes about 2 to 2.5 hours (don't rush to get there) and has complicated and slippery sections. The trail has 2 viewpoints (close to the final destination). Bring good shoes, water, a shirt and long pants. I recommend leaving in the morning, preferably before 9 am, to avoid the midday sun at the top of the split rock. (Original) Paisagem maravilhosa e vale o esforço.

(Translated by Google) This trail is a little more difficult than Pedra Rodada, which has stairs and is very short! I don't recommend doing this trail if you have mobility problems, because at times you'll need a little physical strength to get through certain steep and narrow spots... The trail is well marked and not very well marked, with signs at some points and two really cool viewpoints along the way, to recharge your batteries and admire nature! It's possible to get there without any major problems, because during the holiday season, there are always people going to or coming back from the same place as you... If possible, choose to do this trail while there's daylight and good weather, because it's a 40 to 50 minute walk from the fork that separates the Pedra Rodada/Ronda trails. Unmissable! People who give this trail a bad review must not be physically fit and/or may have gone alone... From Pedra Rodada, the second highest point in the region, you can see Pedra Rodada, which was FULL the day I visited!

(Translated by Google) Excellent for admiring the horizon and the landscape in general. However, considering the profile of São José dos Campos, it should be revitalized, taking advantage of the slope of the land, expanding the tiny deck, and building an attached grandstand with the same wooden profile as the deck, offering comfort to those who appreciate this view. Since it would be a hidden location, it would be necessary to install a security camera, ensuring not only security but also order, preventing crime and undesirable behavior from inconvenient people. The City Hall could authorize the construction of a coffee shop/snack bar next to the deck, with public restrooms (paid), separate for men and women. The responsibility for cleaning and maintenance would be outsourced to a third party. Besides the revenue for the merchant, it would offer convenience to deck users who want to enjoy the landscape for longer.

Shopping mall
Shopping
Vale Sul Shopping is the largest and most diverse shopping center in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil. It offers a wide range of designer stores, boutiques, restaurants, and a cinema. The mall features various brand outlets and segments along with health facilities and a gas station. While it may not be the most budget-friendly for international visitors due to higher prices compared to the U.S., it's still an enjoyable place to explore without making big purchases.
Sorry, I didn't went there. Just used as reference to get the approximate distance until a friend's place near the shopping centre.

I am impressed by the online presence of this shoe repair shop, which effectively highlights its exceptional products and services via various social media platforms. The consistent and engaging content allows customers to stay updated and informed. It's refreshing to see a business utilizing technology to connect with its audience.
Wesley T — Google review
Nice shopping mall, with a bit of everything. Very big food plaza, with lots of options to choose from, the most famous places are in there. You can find a super market as well as a construction or home renovation store. You arcade gaming. They also have a cinema with lots of options of movie to pick. Lots of places to park your car and sometimes they'll have events happening at the car park.
Bruno S — Google review
It's very basic, it's a simple place full of low budget stores. The cinemas are great, but 99% of the movies shown are dubbed in Portuguese. The bowling alley is nice, great place to eat.
Luis C — Google review
Very organized shopping center with ample parking space. There is a good variety of quality products, a movie theater, and restaurants. The prices are typically more elevated but this is a general rule in shopping centers/malls in Brazil.
Nassim D — Google review
I'm a tourist from the U.S and one of my favorite things to do is to see the difference between malls in different countries. Let's just say Brazilian malls are one of my new favorites. I wasn't there to buy anything so I enjoyed just looking around, however, if you were going to buy something it's not very cheap. Example: a Maybelline mascara costs 80 Reais which, for an American, would be $20.00. I would economize, look around, and maybe buy something small, but don't go there for a shopping spree. The food court is great with several options, but, again, the prices and portions are wild for me as a foreigner. Overall, the mall is pretty and clean and I would come here again just to see the different stores.
Larissa M — Google review
A not so huge space. A congested environment during weekend. Just like other malls the ambience is the same and restaurants as usual are crowded. No English speaking guide and Walmart in it is the added advantage. Walmart is not so big as we normally see but a good place for a one stop shop
Ansari S — Google review
I only didn't give it a 5 star because of it's Pet Policy. Like in many other malls in Brazil pets are allowed in, but in this one you have to carry them on your lap. It is also forbidden to leave your pet at the entrance like many other places allow you to. So, if your pet is a lil fatty like mine, choose a different place to go to. Appart from that, very best mall in town.

The MAB Brazilian Aerospace Memorial is an educational center that showcases military and aerospace advancements through exhibits of planes, models, rockets, and mechanical artifacts. It serves as a tribute to the lives lost in an accident at the Alcantara Launch Center. The museum houses a modest collection of items representing Brazil's aerospace industry, including models of rockets, Santos Dumont's childhood home, aircraft components, and even a fibreglass car.

A Very Special Place. Good for families, children will love it. Don't forget to bring your mosquito repellent during summer time and avoid to get near the fence and lake because of the ticks that can transmit disease. Besides that, you will find a lot of history, jets, rockets, planes and much more.

Fábio V — Google review
It's a small collection of artifacts from the history of Brazil's aerospace industry - from models of rockets and Santos Dumont's childhood home, through components of aircraft and right up to a few full size examples. It's nothing like the Smithsonian's Air and Space museum, but still appeals to the aviation geek. (Did I mention there's a fibreglass car?)

Amantikir Park

Serene botanical garden offering a variety of flora & fauna, plus labyrinths, eateries & events.
Awesome park with great infrastructure. They have an awesome place to view the valley. There are cats around the park but not friendly

This park is absolutely beautiful. We spent a few hours here, exploring. Then we had lunch at the restaurant at the end and it was wonderful.
Tatiana M — Google review
Such a beautiful place with kind-hearted staff! I’m not a local and didn’t know that they only accept cash and Pix, and since my card was international they couldn’t accept it. The girl selling tickets let me in for free and covered my parking as well. Such a simple yet kind act, it was genuinely the highlight of my day! The plants and gardens were beautiful, and I felt very peaceful afterwards. I would recommend this place to everyone!
Alexandra N — Google review
This park was absolutely beautiful and worth the 40 Reis entrance fee. The gardens were all well-maintained. The views of the surrounding valleys were spectacular. It's an easy stroll through the park, and there's even a maze to navigate through. There are various plants to see and coy fish in the ponds. And there's a tree house you can visit. You only need 1-2 hours total to see everything. The employees were nice, but it may be difficult to find someone that speaks English.
Christine M — Google review
This was my second visit, and somehow, this time the park felt smaller. They really take care of this place, and it's a good one hour's visit. Entrance fee is not cheap.
Michelle O — Google review
They have good tree house.. and nice place to take a walk with family, unfortunately every garden doesn’t really represent the country mentioned. Only Japanese garden and Chinese garden that bit represent their own country.
Anastasia K — Google review
Absolutely wonderful botanical gardens. The location is amazing, with plenty of beautiful scenery. From the treehouse to hedge maze, there is a lot to occupy half a day. I was impressed with how well it was maintained and the variety of plants. The price was reasonable for what you get to see. Also, there is a student discount if you show your student ID. Highly recommend Amantikir Park; it is a must see if you are in the area.

Here was one of the most beautiful botanical park where I have visited ever. We can identify that they respect nature. Even kid can enjoy and have fun here. In addition, we can see beautiful mountains view from here.

Boa Vista Palace

Architectural Buildings
Boa Vista Palace, a former governor's residence in winter, now serves as a museum showcasing historical objects and art alongside contemporary works. The palace offers guided tours on specific days, so it's recommended to book in advance. Built in the European style, the palace boasts a vast area worth exploring. On weekends, it attracts many visitors with highly knowledgeable guides sharing its history and significance within the state government.
It's a wonderful building. You can see art and building from different times, from 18th century chests to nowadays paintings. The place is a must go to any lover of art or/and history. Outside the building there's a garden which is the only place you can take pictures of, and it's very beautiful too.
Henrique O — Google review
Can't rate it completely as we didn't get a chance to get inside. I suggest you arrive earlier as there are only 30 free tickets available every 30mins.
Marcelo P — Google review
Its a really nice place, it was colder than the usual places in SP. The security was also really nice to let us take a photo with him.
Agatha H — Google review
Watch out for the timing. The place is mostly closed and has a restricted entrance up to 30 people every 30 minutes. It closes if there's rain or the street is wet. It's very hard to coordinate. To avoid completely wasting your time , the auditorium down the road is very pleasant and has a sculpture garden.
Marco C — Google review
Entry tickets are handed out twice a day, first come, first served. 10am is the first ticket hand-out, and 2pm is the second. Only 18 people can enter per group and stay in for 30 minutes tops.
Raphael G — Google review
Nice the palace is like a French chatu of the 17th century is a copy I would say but the system is not very efficient to take visits as you have to go in person should be via internet like all other places in the town are this makes it difficult to visit and becomes a poor quality service and poor efficiency in today's days.

Ducha de Prata

Waterfalls
Ducha de Prata is a popular tourist spot in Campos do Jordao, featuring man-made waterfalls and showers accessible via wooden decks. The water supply comes directly from the natural waterfalls of Ribeirao de Perdizes. Visitors can stroll along the wooden bridges, listen to the soothing sounds of the waterfall, and explore nearby souvenir stalls offering various items such as clothing, chocolates, and crafts.
Another tourist attraction in Campos de Jordão and one of the best for sure. A small waterfall with walking areas and platforms designed to get the best picture possible. Lots of small shops and restaurants around as well as tourism buses departing and arriving here. On the low side there is lack of toilets, so if you have the urge, you need to use one of the tiny ones located within the restaurants around.

It was a silly place but fun for our kid and we took lots of pictures. The photographer in there was really nice and only charged us R$5 per adult to take photos of us by the sign and even did a video with snow falling. We enjoyed that!

Cute area to see the view. You can park your car on the other side of town, and go up the cable train. There was a huge wait though.

Overlooking Campos do jordoan, beautiful European style town right in brazil. You can take a "ski lift" type ride up or down to the overlook. Couple of little shops and food vendors so you can spend a little extra time enjoying the view. The photos are what so much of the home, hotels, shops and restaurants are like.
Bert A — Google review
It was OK but not that much of a thing to see you have to pay to get a good photo photo it was around 5reais The cable car is not working now so if you want to try the cable car you have to wait-a-bit more It's also not easy to park
Amy H — Google review
Beautiful view in a place that could get potential to be better. We climbed to the elephant's hill using the scared cable car, I believe its was created with the city and never modernized. My husband, who is Canadian, liked the experience more than I did. He was scared but he found excited at the same time. I think that because I have already been to Campos do Jordão several times, I think at this point the city, which seems to be very rich looking at the hotels in the area and people who frequent it, should have already renovated that a long time ago and have made something much better and more attractive, as the other countries that have mountains for Ski. I think don’t need to be exactly the same, but Mount Tremblant in Quebec also has a small area up hill and its not so fancy, but little more attractive and safe. Anyway, the view is very beautiful and we can see the whole city, mountains and part of the other surrounding regions. When we get up there again, the attractions could be much more elaborate and modernized giving opportunity to locals to get better jobs, show a nicer view and give to the city, locals and visitors a better structure. I think the place with elephants is a good idea, especially for children, but they could modernize it and charge a little for the entrance to maintain the place. They also could make a kind of a little mall where people could expose their crafts making their products more attractive and a nice cafe or restaurant with a lookout ... Anyway, use a little of the American style of exposing your business, which could be better for everybody. If I had money to invest, that unfortunately is not the case at the moment, I would probably organize people and get that changed for the benefit of all city and visitors. Grade: Eli = 3, Serge = 3 Recommend: It’s worth for the Mountain View.

A nice park to walk around. There are several short hikes. We really enjoyed Trilha dos campos (3km), which takes you up to good views and also winds along the river for a stretch. The trail to the waterfall was much more crowded and more of a road than a trail. Overall, the park itself was very crowded excepting Trilha dos Campos. It is possible to access by bus or uber and you do have to pay to enter.

The Basílica Histórica de Nossa Senhora Aparecida is a welcoming place for pets, as visitors are surprised by how well-behaved they are. It's possible to attend mass with your furry friends without any issues. When visiting, it's recommended to sit closer to the door and in the back rows to manage any barking. The architecture of the basilica is stunning, although some visitors were unable to enter due to closure.

The parish priest tried to prevent a large flock of faithful to pray the Holy Rosary in front of the church. This had been announced days in advance. Instead he purposely rang all of the church bells, to make so much noise that nobody could understand a word - it was a wonderful experience to pray the Holy Rosary under such circumstance, against the orders of the pastor! *Shame on this parish pastor!*

(Translated by Google) NOT WORTH THE EXPERIENCE! The physical space is beautiful, German style, inviting! It's strange that it's constantly empty. I soon discovered the reason: expensive and unseasoned food! (R$99.00 = rice, fries, steak - 2 people) *doesn't serve 1 person. ABSURD!!!! Burnt filet mignon steak, reheated rice, fries covered in oil, beans on the side (R$20.00) overly seasoned. I couldn't eat it! We ask for sparkling water, THERE IS NONE! We ask for Coca-Cola Zero, WE ONLY GET TWO! We ask to sit in the dining room, WE ONLY SERVE ON THE BALCONY! We ask for filet parmigiana, WE ONLY HAVE THAT DISH (THAT'S THE NAME), BECAUSE WE CLOSED AT 2PM! (*Saturday 12:45) Result: I paid a lot and went home angry and hungry. An experience I wish I had avoided. 1 star is still too much for the place. (Original) NÃO VALE A EXPERIÊNCIA! O espaço físico é bonito, estilo alemão, convidativo! Estranho estar constantemente vazio. Logo descobri o motivo: comida cara e sem tempero! (R$ 99,00 = arroz, batata frita, bife - 2 pessoas) *não serve 1 pessoa. ABSURDO!!!!

(Translated by Google) I came to the brewery with my family after seeing the place advertised on the road. The experience was regrettable. The restaurant wasn't full, but the dishes took a long time to arrive at all the tables. In addition, there was a problem with the brewery and there was no Pilsen draft beer. After a long time, the food arrived and fortunately it was delicious. The restaurant has fewer waiters than it needs, both in the service and in the kitchen. The waiters are clearly trying their best to serve the customers, but they can't work miracles! Please improve.

(Translated by Google) Terrible experience!!! We waited two hours to eat, two waiters just to serve, with no one managing, they try hard to serve, but they are lost. It is a brewery without beer, which takes a long time to serve. They couldn't even serve the soft drinks we ordered. And there were several people at the table and each dish was served separately, the rice came and then the meat, the meat came and they forgot the side dishes. Anyway... Regrettable!!! (Translated by Google) The work done with the models is sensational! Very meticulous and detailed. However, I believe that because there are so many models, the tour with high school students is too quick! They quickly and mechanically tell the stories portrayed in the works, leaving us no time to contemplate them. We must value youth in this type of work, but it seems like there's a lack of better supervision (as well as financial resources—they accept donations). It's worth checking out. Vale prestigiar.

All the attractions/areas are presented by them, and the models are also made by the boys and girls involved in the project. The museum presents facts from the 1932 revolution and other historical attractions in Brazil. The models are representations of national historical facts. As mentioned, the entire presentation is made by the young people involved in the project. Each one is responsible for presenting a wing/sector of the museum. Admission is free, and a donation is accepted at the end of the visit, all with the aim of helping the young people who participate in the project. A wonderful project. Parque Nacional do Itatiaia

Mentioned on

National park
Nature & Parks
Park
Itatiaia National Park, Brazil's first national park, boasts a diverse range of landscapes from dense rainforests to rugged peaks. The lower section offers accessible trails leading to waterfalls and natural swimming holes, while the remote high country provides excitement for serious hikers and climbers. Visitors can enjoy abundant flora and fauna including orchids, monkeys, and tropical birds. Accessing the upper portion may require a high-clearance vehicle due to challenging roads.
Wonderful national park at Itataia. It's possible to visit the park on foot, bike or by car. Visitors entering the park by car must pay an extra fee (around R$ 24,00) to take it's paved and non paved roads on a motored vehicle. The activities available at the park for visitors range from a beautiful cultural centre with many historical highlights, track trails in a rich forest terrain, magnificent waterfalls to admire and freshen up, numerous bird watching spots, and exuberant viewpoints of the Mantiqueira Mountain and it's wildlife. The difficulty of tracks may vary a lot. Upon entry on the park, visitors are given a detailed map, which shows what's possible to do whilst visiting the site. The park is basically divided into a lower and an upper part. The most demanding tracks, which are also those that one needs to plan in advance, are located in the upper part of park. In those areas, it's possible to camp on designated areas or stay for the night at one of the park's lodging houses (reservation in advance needed). In the park's website, there are lots of information for visitors, and high definition pdf maps for downloading, as well as a list of well trained guides on the park whenever the need arises. It's not possible to park in any spot by the road, the permitted parking areas will be sign posted. All around the park, it's possible to see restaurants, hotels and other private properties, which means there's no time available to do everything you'll find at the park. It's a highly recommended visit, and a place not to forget.
