As a member of the Foreign Trade Circle Hall of Fame, Palato (nicknamed "Old Bird") has accumulated rich practical experience from being a foreign trade salesperson to a manager and then starting his own business. 关于"老鸟"的由来
The Origin of the "Old Bird" Nickname
老鸟解释道:"这个昵称有两个来源:一是初中好友的外号叫'老bird';二是受电视剧《我是老兵》中特种兵训练场景的启发,觉得自己经历丰富,不再是'菜鸟'了。"
Old Bird explained: "This nickname has two origins: first, a junior high school friend's nickname was 'Old Bird'; second, inspired by the special forces training scenes in the TV series 'I Am a Veteran', I felt experienced enough to no longer be a 'rookie'."

Career Development Path for Foreign Trade Professionals
老鸟回顾自己十年的外贸历程,从业务员到经理再到自主创业,认为这条道路并不适合所有人:"有些人喜欢外贸但不喜欢创业,更倾向于找平台获得相对稳定的工作。"
Looking back on his ten-year foreign trade journey, from salesperson to manager to entrepreneur, Old Bird believes this path isn't for everyone: "Some people enjoy foreign trade but not entrepreneurship, preferring to find a platform for relatively stable work."
他特别强调选择公司的重要性:"跟对人很重要。我曾因老板偷工减料导致辛苦开发的客户流失,最终选择离开。"
He particularly emphasized the importance of company selection: "Choosing the right leader is crucial. I once left because the boss cut corners, causing the loss of hard-earned clients."
给外贸新人的建议
Advice for Foreign Trade Newcomers
老鸟指出新人常见的三个问题:
Old Bird pointed out three common problems for newcomers:
- 选择公司时过于理想化
- 缺乏踏实学习产品知识的态度
- 急于求成,忽视基础积累
- Being too idealistic when choosing a company
- Lacking the attitude to diligently learn product knowledge
- Being impatient for success while neglecting foundational accumulation
他建议:"外贸是持久战,夯实基础、调整心态才是关键。就像盖房子,需要一砖一瓦的积累。"
He advised: "Foreign trade is a marathon, building a solid foundation and adjusting your mindset are key. Like building a house, it requires brick-by-brick accumulation."
当前外贸形势分析
Analysis of Current Foreign Trade Situation
老鸟观察到:"原材料半成品市场正在向越南等劳动力成本更低的国家转移。中国企业必须转型升级,发展深加工或有技术含量的产品才能保持竞争力。"
Old Bird observed: "The raw materials and semi-finished products market is shifting to countries with lower labor costs like Vietnam. Chinese companies must transform and upgrade, developing deep processing or technologically advanced products to remain competitive."
他举例说明:"就像苹果手机不断更新换代,企业需要有自己的研发能力才能持续发展。"
He illustrated with an example: "Just like Apple continuously updates its iPhones, companies need R&D capabilities for sustainable development."
