In 2018, Google launched the "Smart Compose" feature for the Web version of Gmail and expanded it to the Android platform in 2019.
Now, the search giant is conducting new tests to plan to extend the "Smart Compose" feature to other messaging apps through the Android version of Gboard.
With the "Smart Compose" feature, Gboard provides more intelligent input suggestions and can even complete entire sentences.
By contrast, the "intelligent association" feature of the ordinary input method usually only provides suggestions for the next word.
When it is first launched, users can view a quick explanation about "Smart Compose". If they accept the suggestions provided by Gboard, users can swipe right directly on the selected text.
It is reported that Google is currently conducting a Beta test of the "Smart Compose" feature for some users running the v9.5.12.317844448 version of the Gboard input method. As for when it will be rolled out to the public, it is not yet known.
