got around to installing 64-bit debian onto enzo. in the process of bringing back services, configs, and users as we notice they're gone. if anything appears broken, let us know on IRC, or email or something.

currently enzo has a weird "feature" where the stack and heap are always executable despite the /proc/self/maps saying they aren't. making a handful of the challenges easier than they should be. tested the harddrive in a different computer. "feature" persists. tested different install of linux on the same hardware. no "feature". probably going to install 64-bit debian onto a different disk and leave the original one mounted along-side it. eventually.

installed apcupsd onto enzo, enabled it, and it immediately decided it needed to shutdown. when the server came back up, the DNS server wasn't loading the important zone because of some "missing" DNSSEC key. should be good now. the apcupsd CGIs are in /apcupsd/ if you want to lurk on my UPS.

server is back connected to dn42. only through one on other AS atm, but 3 of their routers.

this time actually using the hostname too.

changed the news posting and commenting to use the username stored in your session.

Fixed sessions on the website. They were borked because ~ wasn't expanding.
