军工电子产业是桂林"三线建设"的重要成果。长海机器厂在山洞中研发生产，创造了"七进七出"（早7点上班晚7点下班）的工作精神。1978年，该厂成功研制中国第一代雷达对抗装备。
The military electronics industry was a major achievement of Guilin's "Third Front Construction". Changhai Machinery Factory conducted R&D and production in mountain tunnels, creating the "7-in-7-out" work ethic (7am to 7pm shifts). In 1978, the factory successfully developed China's first generation of radar countermeasure equipment.
在医药领域，桂林制药厂于1980年突破性研发青蒿琥酯，获得新中国一类新药001号证书。如今，桂林南药已向全球供应超过1.2亿支注射用青蒿琥酯，拯救2400多万重症疟疾患者。
In the pharmaceutical field, Guilin Pharmaceutical Factory made a breakthrough in 1980 by developing artesunate, earning New China's first Class 1 new drug certificate (No. 001). Today, Guilin Southern Pharmaceutical has supplied over 120 million doses of artesunate for injection worldwide, saving more than 24 million severe malaria patients.
