Chinese Tea Culture Successfully Inscribed as Intangible Cultural Heritage: Beijing Jasmine Tea Making Technique Included
北京时间11月29日晚,在摩洛哥拉巴特召开的联合国教科文组织保护非物质文化遗产政府间委员会第17届常会上,中国申报的"中国传统制茶技艺及其相关习俗"项目通过评审,正式列入人类非物质文化遗产代表作名录。
On the evening of November 29th Beijing time, at the 17th session of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage held in Rabat, Morocco, China's nomination of "Traditional tea processing techniques and associated social practices in China" was approved and officially inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
至此,我国共有43个项目列入联合国教科文组织非物质文化遗产名录、名册,位居世界第一。
This brings China's total number of items inscribed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage lists to 43, ranking first in the world.

新京报记者发现,北京市的张一元和吴裕泰的茉莉花茶制作技艺也名列其中。这项技艺通过独特的窨制工艺,将茉莉花香与茶香完美融合,展现了北方茶文化的独特魅力。
Beijing's Jasmine tea making techniques from renowned tea houses Zhang Yiyuan and Wu Yutai were included in the list. This technique perfectly blends jasmine fragrance with tea aroma through a unique scenting process, showcasing the unique charm of northern tea culture.

中国国际茶文化研究会副会长王岳飞表示:"世界上有近一半人(30多亿人)每天饮用茶叶,全世界一天饮用的茶超过30亿杯。"中国茶叶产量占世界的47.63%,消费量占41.68%,出口量占19.14%,对世界茶叶产业影响深远。
Wang Yuefei, vice president of China International Tea Culture Institute, stated: "Nearly half of the world's population (over 3 billion people) drink tea daily, with global daily consumption exceeding 3 billion cups." Chinese tea accounts for 47.63% of world production, 41.68% of consumption, and 19.14% of exports, demonstrating its profound impact on the global tea industry.

相关社区、群体和个人于2020年12月成立保护工作组,联合制定了《中国传统制茶技艺及其相关习俗五年保护计划(2021-2025)》,将通过多种方式确保这一珍贵文化遗产的传承与发展。
In December 2020, relevant communities, groups and individuals established a protection working group and jointly formulated the "Five-Year Protection Plan for Traditional Chinese Tea Processing Techniques and Associated Social Practices (2021-2025)" to ensure the inheritance and development of this precious cultural heritage through various means.
