"春节前后是珠宝企业生产销售旺季，这个时候我们都会比平时忙。珠宝首饰是一种奢侈消费品，市场需求量大了，说明经济形势有所好转，我们忙一些也开心！"广州市沁德珠宝首饰有限公司总经理甘泉说。
Customs Facilitates Jewelry Exports
At 2 pm on February 23 (the eighth day of the Lunar New Year), a long queue of trucks loaded with jewelry was seen at the entrance of Shawan Jewelry Industrial Park in Panyu, Guangzhou, ready to head to Lianhuashan Passenger Port. These "Panyu-made" jewelry products will be exported worldwide through the port.
"The Spring Festival period is peak season for jewelry production and sales. We're much busier than usual during this time. As jewelry is a luxury consumer good, increased market demand indicates economic improvement. We're happy to be busy!" said Gan Quan, general manager of Guangzhou Qinde Jewelry Co., Ltd.

广州海关隶属番禺海关沙湾珠宝园监管科科长邓迈红介绍，为保障珠宝企业应节货物准时交货，海关应用大数据信息化技术，简化海关接单手续，为企业提供预约式延班服务，确保货物当天放行。
"海关加班加点办理通关手续，还跟我们珠宝企业建了个微信群，及时宣讲最新政策，我们咨询的一些问题，也都能实时解答。"甘泉说。
Efficient Customs Services Support Exports
Deng Maihong, chief of Shawan Jewelry Park Supervision Section of Panyu Customs (subordinate to Guangzhou Customs), said that to ensure timely delivery of seasonal goods, customs has applied big data and information technology to simplify documentation procedures, while providing extended working hours upon appointment to guarantee same-day release of goods.
"Customs officers work overtime to handle clearance procedures. They also established a WeChat group with jewelry companies to promptly communicate new policies and provide real-time answers to our inquiries," Gan added.
番禺珠宝产业40年发展成就
经过40年的发展，广州番禺已从改革开放初期的珠宝首饰小作坊发展成为集保税、检测、培训、物流、交易、公共服务等为一体的国际珠宝产业集聚地，逐步成为国内最主要的珠宝生产、出口基地，"世界珠宝 番禺智造"提高全球知名度。
据海关统计，2017年广州番禺区进出口珠宝首饰485.7亿元人民币，占同期番禺区进出口总值的38%。
40 Years of Development in Panyu's Jewelry Industry
After 40 years of development, Panyu has transformed from small jewelry workshops in the early days of reform and opening-up into an international jewelry industry cluster integrating bonded services, testing, training, logistics, trading and public services. It has gradually become China's most important jewelry production and export base, with "World Jewelry, Panyu Made" gaining global recognition.
According to customs statistics, Panyu District's jewelry imports and exports reached 48.57 billion yuan in 2017, accounting for 38% of the district's total import and export value during the same period.
